    it's great! a little tough to get through the whole show, but it's a good tune in for a few minutes every now and again.

    it used to be KNX i think, but i haven't tuned into any of those since they did a War of the Worlds broadcast on Halloween like 15 or so years ago... so i have no idea if they're still doing the serials thing anymore.

    Songs for the Whippersnapper

    Sunday 11.00AM–1.00PM :: KSPC 88.7

    Spend your Sundays, 11am to 1pm, with your friendly hostess dia, as she paints your ears with music and fun for all. You will flip out as you listen to a motley mishmash of kooky sounds from all decades and genres. Along with the dandy tunes, you will also get a snazzy story or special surprise at noon! Perfect for you and the entire family! The Songs for the Whippersnapper Show will totally knock your socks off!

    The Songs For The Whippersnapper Show | Facebook

    it's almost like two shows. the first hour is wacky music and the second hour is usually a story recording - like one side of an old Johnny Quest record and stuff like that.

    truly terrific stuff!
    a tad bit late for today, but if it is streamed, I'll try and give a listen next Sunday.

    Ah man - that brings back some memories. When my family would be in L.A. on a Saturday or Sunday, we would listen to "The Lone Ranger" on KNX on the way home. I think they played some Dragnet shows as well.

    One thing they (KNX??) have done recently is they broadcast CBS' 60 minutes - the actual tv feed. It's very good even w/o the video. I think it's Sunday night at 7:00, just like tv (if they still do this)

    This! They improvise a LOT on that show sometimes it's genius. Sometimes it's tedious.

    I am a HUGE Robert Altman fan and he made a film Prairie Home Companion and that got me interested in it. So that got me listening to it online. And Garrison Keillor is such a great guy, like that English Professor who you just can't, but like.

    no it isn't. There are a lot of us radio heads left in the world. Personally, with the help of the interwebz, I listen to more radio throughout the day than I watch television.

    I think they stopped doing OTR shows in 2003 (shortly before I moved to Las Vegas)...

    i know a few sites that have the shows (and one - multiply.com - that will close on December 1st due to the domain going under) and a few accounts by this Kings fan... Check for IDs Razzilla (general OTR - mostly comedy and game shows)...Weihnachtsmann (Christmas radio and music) and 39inEwigkeit (Jack Benny)...

    Besides Jack Benny...my personal favorite is a quiz show called It Pays To Be Ignorant (a quiz show where nobody gets the EASY QUESTIONS right and a panel so dumb they can qualify as Ucks fans)... The puns and zingers are in full force with this one...

    I'll have to tell you that what I have loaded on those multiply sites isn't even a tenth of what I have on the computer...

    I've been listening to Radio Paradise for 11 years now, ever since KSCA 101.9 went off the air. LA Radio sux, has for many years now. KSCA was the last great station to go the way of corporate radio. Radio Paradise is about as eclectic as you can find. Just a quick glance at their Top Rated Tracks will attest to that: The Beatles, Beethoven, Pink Floyd, Dave Brubeck, Mozart, Etta James, Otis Redding, Benny Goodman, Rolling Stones, Bach, Duke Ellington, Zeppelin, Ray Charles, Johnny Cash, The Who......

    The only time I turn my radio on anymore is to listen to Kings or Angels broadcasts
