    Grand Ole Opry
    IPTBI
    Archie Andrews
    The Life Of Riley
    What's My Line? (TV simulcast)
    Gene Autry
    Roy Rogers
Moon River (a show more boring than the Minnesota Wild - sponsored by a mattress company)
(unfortunately) Life With Luigi (the WORST radio show to exist next to the Hartz Radio Canaries)...

    To a lesser point
Amos 'n' Andy (I think I only caught four errors not caught in this series)
Point Sublime (placed a definitive date on a file that was otherwise unknown - even though it was introduced that "yesterday was Mother's Day)
I was the one that set this set of NBC's complete broadcast day of D-Day to military time

Ok, I am not old Victorian radio type...but I do loves the talk and or sports radio. IHEARTradio app is interesting. You get to hear local shows out of your area. But to me...Sirius/XM is the be all end all. They have an old school radio serial channel as well as seasonal channels and all the talk you can want...all in pretty high def . Future of radio really, and then you have HOWARD whenever he wants to actually come in and work.eah...worth paying for.

I've been getting more and more annoyed lately - you never know when he's on or not, and when it's 3 days a week. I get it's busy with AGT and all, but man. The "best of" shows get old real fast.

I'm still in the middle on whether I'm getting into Jason Ellis, after like 10 years.

80s on 8 in the meantime, yeah that works.

Yeah...30+years in radio and basically becoming the face of the damned business. Whatsamatter there grouchy, too liberal for ya? C'mon...you can NOT like him, but to say he hasn't impressed...hell, for the sheer fact that he has stayed at the top of his game and been relevant in what is really a dying medium all of this time, well that dog won't hunt monsignor. And yeah...he spends a lot of his time on vacation these days, but he's 58 and has earned it. Better that than retire.

I feel the same about Ellis. He's an odd duck. Miss Bubba the Love Sponge. Jay Thomas is wonderfully cranky in small doses. I still love all the other shows on the Howard channels...GeekTime, Ferrall, The guy from Chicago...

And I am older so...'70's on 7 is the one for me.

wow, i never thought i'd come across a conversation about old time radio... when i was in college, i had a "relationship" with some guy who was 8 years older than me (which seemed like a big age gap when i was a naive 21 year old) and we'd fall asleep listening to OTR. i can't tell you what shows i listened to because honestly, i was just there to boink. he told me he listened to it because his dad got him in to it. i think looking back on it, thanks to the reminder in this thread, i kind of miss listening to it in that setting. these days, i'm a big fan of old timey stuff and cuddles.
on a side note, he DJ'd a music show at the local radio station KUCI, which is how i met him since i kind of hung around the station's trailer on campus.

as for the non-victorian (lol) radio, i miss when indie 103.1 was on the air because that was the last time i really enjoyed FM radio. nowadays, i try to listen to complete control on 98.7 saturdays at 10pm because sideonedummy records guy, joe sib, plays all the best punk rock. it's not mainstream or repetitive which is the flaw with a lot of other FM stations. the problem is that it's saturday night and radio isn't always my priority at that time but it works out during hockey season when i'm driving home from a game.

the one time i really enjoyed satellite radio was when we rented a car and it had XM and we listened to fungus 53. that was my (late) introduction to fugazi and lots of other great punk music.

i'm otherwise content not listening to radio for music since i have a bunch of other avenues that are so much better. as for non-musical, i listen to NPR. it's crazy... before i turned 30, i teased my husband all the time saying it was for old people. then in my 30th bday card he wrote "welcome to listening to NPR, having a lesser alcohol tolerance..." (and a few other things) and it all pretty much came true.

almost forgot, i also stream this on itunes when i'm at the computer:

Hell, Joe Stalin was at the top of his game for longer than that in a doomed system. He didn't impress me either.

(Rush is to liberal for me too.)

    dude....when he was 21, you were 13?

fungus was XM's counterpart to sirius' Faction. I think they merged when the company merger happened. I remember way back when, I liked fungus better as they focused primarily on punk/ska/hardcore music. Faction gives you a big ol' mix of punk, hard rock, rap, and nu-metal....I guess. I do love Marky Ramone's punk rock blitzkrieg though, wish it was on more than once or twice a week.

geektime is great. Ralph actually really cracks me up. Jay Thomas bores me after a few minutes. ferrall I like, but his voice, i just can't take it. maybe i'm old and grumpy.

I like the raw dog comedy channel too, mostly because I love hearing mitch hedberg or george carlin bits, even if just for small segments.

oh and I miss KNAC too
