I thoroughly enjoyed FH&F. Have only listened to the new H&F a small amount, thought it was fine but not a big enough sample size to have an opinion about.

What's not to like? It might not be pure broadcasting genius every hour, but it's better than top 40 o the pops, sports, or right wing political babble in the morning.
Who are you calling you people?

If I am listening to radio it's gonna be talk or sports radio.
I guess I've become spoiled by the new technologies.

I listen to radio shows from multiple markets and I listen to podcasts. I haven't had to settle for "pleasant distractions".

see, and I am old school. I don't do podcasts. And when you are at work or in the can doing ablutions a regular old lo-fi transistor radio is sometimes your only option. So go 'pleasantly distract' yourself!

I will! I'm listening to a radio show out of DC right now! Very pleasant.

I was hoping to listen 1 last time to the repeats between the time they signed off and the start of the Heidi and Frank show. KLOS decided to play music during that time instead of repeats. oh well.

Brian has a new podcast with Jill Whelan and I think it is very good (if you are a M&B fan). They seem to have very good chemistry. It reminds me of the M&B show as there are many similar bits from the show. Since it is a podcast, I can listen to it on my time and I find myself listening to it more then M&B. The Brian and Jill Show | The Brian and Jill Show

Mark's podcast doesn't interest me at all. I understand his reasoning and everything but just not my thing. The one thing that really disappointed me was a youtube video of him I saw recently. He has since took it down it seems. He basically cussed out the M&B fans. It reminded me of Saturday Night Live skit with William Shatner telling Star Trek fans to "get a life". Apparently, M&B fans were clogging up his podcast website with anything relate to M&B. I understand his frustration but thought he could have handled it better or differently. I have definitely lost interest now if I had any to begin with.

I liked Frosty, Heidi and Frank when they are on KLSX. I haven't listened much and I am willing to give them a chance but so far, they are not doing it for me. Every time I turn them on the radio, they are talking about bodily function humor. That is not my sort of thing. I think not having Frosty with them really changed the dynamics of the show and not for the better. I will keep listening for now and see where it goes.
Thx for the info. I have been listening to M&B since they started in L.A. and the change to Heidi and Frank has not been a good one for me. I remember why I didn't like them years ago when they were on KLSX. Even their callers sound different than M&B callers. And now I miss the football talk!!

I'll have to enter the podcast world and try Brian and Jills show.

Did you hear the beginning of H&F show? Mark was their first caller, and it was good to hear him for what may be the last time. That's odd about him going off on his fans like that - maybe I don't need to even hear that.

I try H&F on the way to work, but I keep going to more am talk, sudoku or the paper. They just don't do it for me. He's kinda creepy and she's got that annoying window-breaking laugh.

this is probably geared towards jerseydevil.....but, happen to catch "the satellite years" from October 2008 yesterday? More specifically, what was to be the debate on who to vote for president between John the Stutterer and Scott D? I swear that was one of the funniest segments ever, and I nearly to had to pull over twice due to laughing to tears. I wish I had a way to record that.

Yeah...it was hilarious. I still love the show, but going back, even a few years makes me yearn for the days when 'the more the merrier' approach was in effect. John the Stutterer trying to explain why he should have notes had me actually gasping for air just because it's so painful to listen to the poor guy's thoughts trying to struggle out of his mouth. And they just wind him up and wind him up. The best parts of the show always had a real mean streak to them.
