    Default All Things:RADIO

Ok, I know this won't be a hugely popular thread, cause Radio is all but dead. Feel free to include Satellite and internet stations as well as traditional.

Really started the thread because this...

'Heidi & Frank' to take over for 'Mark & Brian' on KLOS - latimes.com

is news, and the old F/H & F thread is gone.

I have been a huge M&B fan since they got to L.A. Always enjoyed the show, and my morning commute routine is forever altered with them gone. Over the last 5 years or so, I've wondered how the show would end, and I guess with Mark retiring and moving back east (well, actually to the south), that's the best thing that could have happened.

I remember Heidi and Frank from their KLSX days, and I was not impressed with them at all. But I'll keep an open mind this Tues am on my way to work. If they're half as good as Mark & Brian were for 25 years, that will be fine with me.

And in a way, I'm glad (more relieved) that Brian didn't stay, and work with his proposed co-host Jill. I don't think it could have ever matched M&B, so why tarnish the "B"?

Good Luck Mark & Brian, and hopefully Heidi and Frank do a good job.

It's just not the same without Frosty...but Heidi and Frank are a welcome addition to the morning FM. Kevin and bean are awful. Mark and Brian were missed in my morning commute the last few weeks.

Yeah, Frosty was the serious in the haha sandwich. Curious to see how it plays out. Wonder how much music they will be playing.

I love Internet radio because I can listen to BBC Radio 1Xtra all day for free.

I wish I could have done this when John Peel was around but I still enjoy the **** out of it!

Never cared much for M&B. Have been a KFI morning show person since I moved to So Cal in 79. I can remember Loman and Barkley like it was yesterday, and now, Handel and crew entertain me. Thank God for live streaming. As I no longer live in LA, I can still listen.

I forget which one, but either KNX or KFWB used to do old radio serials like The Green Hornet, The Lone Ranger, and many others on Sunday evenings after 7 or 8.

Does anyone know if they still do them?

just thought i'd mention this in case anyone may be interested... and i DO highly suggest this, as it is absolutely one of the best things on terrestrial radio today.

    Songs for the Whippersnapper

    Sunday 11.00AM–1.00PM :: KSPC 88.7

Spend your Sundays, 11am to 1pm, with your friendly hostess dia, as she paints your ears with music and fun for all. You will flip out as you listen to a motley mishmash of kooky sounds from all decades and genres. Along with the dandy tunes, you will also get a snazzy story or special surprise at noon! Perfect for you and the entire family! The Songs for the Whippersnapper Show will totally knock your socks off!

it's almost like two shows. the first hour is wacky music and the second hour is usually a story recording - like one side of an old Johnny Quest record and stuff like that.

    truly terrific stuff!
