Seems like nothing we haven't seen before but I'm still excited to see it.

    I started re-reading (re-re-re-re, really) Ender's Game in advance of November 1.

I think that was a bad choice, because honestly have no idea how the movie could possibly do it justice. How will they portray his relationship with his siblings (Val in particular)? Will they include Demosthenes and Locke (the only point to that would be to continue the series)? What about Bean? And how about the mind game (The Giant's Drink)?

    UGH!!!!

I don't know, Orph. I'd definitely recommend reading it...but you may wanna wait until after the movie.

i came here once i saw you posted, and i figured it'd probably be about Ender's Game. i too thought about cracking it open again, but it's been long enough since i last read it, where it'd be best for me to wait until after i see the movie... a movie i've wanted for a long time for very personal reasons. i know i'm going to be disappointed some, but i'm trying to be more accepting of things these days.

i never purchased the definitive 1991 edition, so i think i'll pick that one up as soon as i see the movie.

After the movie, we should all get together and do some popcorn reading with Ender's Game.

[TV] Did 'Pacific Rim' Inspire Syfy's "Creature At Bay"? -

Syfy has teamed up with X-Men director Bryan Singer and his Bad Hat Harry Prods. (“House”) for “Creature At Bay,” a drama series project, which will be developed as a 90-minute pilot script, Deadline writes.

It will be written by John Cabrera, co-creator of Warner Bros.’ award winning sci-fi digital series “H+,” also produced by Bryan Singer.

“‘Creature At Bay is set in the wake of the US military taking down a giant, rampant creature — a modern-day “Kaiju” monster – just off the Northern California coast. A middle-management Undersecretary from the California Emergency Management Agency is charged with leading the clean-up efforts as the small town becomes the focus of the entire world.”
