Man...I really wanted that Paradise Lost flick.
Ryan Reynolds May Star in HIGHLANDER Reboot
This just in...Ryan Reynolds to play EVERY superhero/sci-fi character FROM NOW ON.
For crying out loud! Can't Hollywood EVER come up with original ideas anymore!!?? Just say no to this reboot!
Oh my gosh I never thought I would pine for the glory days of Hollywood where original ideas were hailed ... like in the 1970's for the hits like Towering Inferno, Earthquake, Jaws, etal. What the H-E-double hockey sticks happened to Hollywood!?
I guess there can be more than just one, lol! :manybeers:
I am a huge fan of the original(even the sequels). There was something magic about Christopher Lambert's one solid emotion(which was somewhere between a grimace and some sort of sarcastic sneer). The tv show already ruined things for me. Fresnadillo is an off the board choice as far as directing, and i like RR...but he just ain't right. More importantly who replaces Connery? I could see Russell Crowe or(for some reason) Colin Farrel keeps popping in to my head. Got to have a memorable villain because Clancy Brown as the Kurgen is simply one of the most fun baddies I can remember. Unecessary for sure...but it's status quo at this point.
No it just can't be redone. You can't improve or even equal perfection of the original. I would accept Farrell as the Highlander and Crowe as the Spainard and have no idea who could equal Clancy Brown. Some things just can't be triflied with and this is one.
And I actually liked the TV series but they did eventually jump the shark.
Actually I like your idea. Farrell is better than most think. And he fits the bill...even though some would say he's too old. You would have to match the star power with the baddie. Hurm. Liam Neeson? Hell, you could swap him and Crowe. The original is a)old and looks it...and b)has that cult-y name value of a movie that wasn't a blockbuster/classic, but still has recognition. It's ripe for a relaunch and not worth getting bent over. I love the original and will always have my anniversary edition.
