Speaking of King, I just bought the IT dvd, maybe it's on blu, lol, but anyways, I never saw it.
But what I am more embarrassed about is that I never read the King novel.
I consider it the best King novel I never read. Carrie, Misery, The Shining, The Stand, you get the idea, read 'em, but IT always alluded me. I have an online friend who reads IT every Summer. He thinks it's that good. Should watch the DVD and finally get a copy and read the novel.
When I took a trip to Mexico, Cancun, haha, the airport had a Spanish version of IT named ES, haha! But weirdly enough they had a Spanish (!!) anthology of Lovecraft! I should had bought it for collector's sake.
Maybe the same airport still has it. Anybody wanna buy me a ticket to Cancun, haha.
SHAME on you. Outside of the STAND, IT is Kings best LONG/MULTI-CHARACTER novel. You NEED NEED NEED to read it.
But I read the Stand so that counts for something, right? Haha.
I do love reading, but some reason I have an aversion towards reading books that are considerably over 500 pages. Stephenson is an exception, and IT is a like a million pages long, well, okay, maybe 1000 plus pages. Plus a ****ing clown!! :O
But ill get to the DVD and the movie. What do you think of the movie? It was made for telly, if my memory serves me right, but Pennywise? :run:
So I just finished 11/22/63 and I loved it. Not as much as The Stand but it is very, very good.
Orph you have got to read IT! This book is a very scary book - not as scary as The Shining - but right up there. I don't know about you jd but while reading IT I felt it was like a '50's monster movie or at least it had that feel. That made it that much better. You gotta read it bro! It is just a great ride. And Tim Curry was great as Pennywise.
I will, just give me time!!!
I came across this quote a few years ago in a book about horror.
“Come on back and we’ll see if you remember the simplest thing of all – how it is to be children, secure in belief and thus afraid of the dark.”
― Stephen King, It
Anybody seen the Dolores Clairborne movie? I haven't, but it's now on my next to watch list after watching IT. Read the novel though, it's pretty good, and disturbing. :O
