I don't get it. Why replace Leno with Conan, then Conan with Leno, then Leno with a less successful Conan?

Anyone watch Bates Motel? I will stick with it for a few more eps, but I struggled to watch it. Norman has icky relationship with shrewish mom, close call with a dead body and the sheriff, yadayadayada. Well-ish acted, except for Farmiga who is playing a very unlikable character...but just kind of one note obvious. Just don't care a whole lot.
And if Grimm wasn't treading the line already I am really a hair away from deleting this. Sooooooooooo tedious. Although the kobiyashi maru or whatever wessen they had this week was really kinda gross, I just could give a rats ass. Tired of them trying to make his fiancee relevent. They already have the most sexless relationship...who cares at this point. Tired of the cgi reveals, and the reluctance of this show to have actual creature make-ups...just fed up with this show. And here comes Revolution...

I just don't understand the point of making the Bates Motel show. I mean, other than the pathological need for entertainment executives to build something off of a familiar name in the hope that it brings ten more eyeballs to the table. They're making up the mother from scratch anyway, since I'm pretty sure she didn't have that many lines in the movie. All the show seems to have accomplished is to allow newspaper columnists to spoil a classic movie for people who haven't seen it. Maybe they can make a show that follows a young facehugger as he moves to a new galaxy, or a show about a boy and his favorite winter sports equipment.

I record pretty much everything and fast forward through the commercials except when I forget to initially, which is why I just noticed the chick from Airplane! was playing a stewardess in a commercial for a store that likes to have cheesy commercials. The only way I watch something live (except sports, of course) is if it is the third thing on in that time slot and thus my DVR cannot handle it, but most of the time I will just watch that show later off the network website or OnDemand. When those options force commmercials on me, I read some other stuff on my laptop while the commercials play.
All the old folks who watch CBS are worth less money to advertisers, though, because they are set in their ways and not ever switching from Coke to Pepsi and are also less likely to go drop $11 on GI Joe 2. But CBS is the only network that really goes after older (as in over 30) viewers, so they get most of them and make plenty of money based on the volume. Until recently, each network went after different people (CBS - older, ABC - women, FOX - young males, CW - young females, NBC - wealthy) but then NBC decided to go after the lowest common denominator and spend as little money as possible in the process, hence the five nights of Briefcase Or No Briefcase and the 10 PM Leno show that sent the network into the toilet. Also, ABC decided to try airing some shows that men might actually watch.

I'm actually really enjoying Bates Motel. Not enough creepy shows out there.

You don't find it...forced. Norman is too...tv friendly, and Vera Farmiga is stuck playing a half thought out character and is stuck between decent and inappropriate but left to wander most of the time. They don't seem clear on what they are going for. And the original owner of the hotel, breaking in and raping her, then getting killed and hid in the tub while the sheriff pees in the adjoining toilet...ugh. Can you maybe throw another cliche in there? And how long can they run with this concept? I dunno, I just think it's too thin and morally undecided. Trying to show human sides one minute while doing complete 180 and hinting at some serious creep the next. I was frustrated after one episode. I will keep watching, but it's on a pitch count...
