[TV] 'Sin City' and 'The Mist' Getting Small Screen Treatment -

The small screen is now the big dog as every studio is clamoring to find the next big screen for at-home audiences.

The Weinstein Company is already working with Miramax to develop TV projects from their properties – like the forthcoming “Scream” series – and now have a few more genre efforts in the works.

In an article at the New York Times, the Weinstein Company revealed that they’re currently working on a “Sin City” series, as well as a developing a proposed 10-part series with Frank Darabont, based on Dimension’s film version of Stephen King’s “The Mist”!

Bob Weinstein said he was hoping to quickly follow the August release of the film Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, directed by Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez, with the “Sin City” television series from both Miller and Rodriguez.

The genre is hotter than ever on the small screen. It only makes sense to take these larger stories and develop them where the story can be nurtured in a way movies can’t.
Interesting. Darabont being involved and The Mist being a mini is the only reason why it's worth re-doing. Sin City...lesser actors and cheaper version of the very unique look...no.

Watched the most recent Blacklist today. Wow that was some good, tense television. I was fully able to allow them cramming that many commandos into the back of a garbage truck. I will be watching the second part shortly after it airs tomorrow.

Karl Urban Talks ALMOST HUMAN, Balancing a Futuristic World with a Human Story, and More | Collider

Last weeks episode was kinda bland. This is the most low tech sci fi ever, seriously.

It's NOT good. But that is what makes it fun. It's kinda nutty...I couldn't get home fast enough to see just how off the wall they were gonna be.

Monday TV Ratings: THE BLACKLIST Surges for Fall Finale; ALMOST HUMAN Drops to New Low | Collider

NBC Renews THE BLACKLIST for 22-Episode Second Season; THE BLACKLIST Stars James Spader | Collider

Really enjoyed the first episode of BlackList but had to remove from my dvr(no room). Intended to keep up via HuLu but I got behind. Need to remedy that after I catch up on Sleepy Hollow(Hey Grimm...this is what you could be if you didn't blow).

Eli Roth, Eric Newman, and Scott Kosar Involved in History Channel's New Jesus Project that Could Include Exorcism - Dread Central

Titled "The Lost Years," the program will explore the undocumented years of Jesus’ life as a young adult. Because the project is in very early stages, it is unclear whether it would be developed as a regular series or a miniseries.

Here's how the site describes it: "The Lost Years" is based on an original idea by Kosar, who developed it with Roth and Newman. All three have strong horror pedigree - Kosar co-wrote The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Amityville Horror, and The Crazies; and Roth and Newman jointly produced The Last Exorcism franchise in addition to their other horror credits. "The Lost Years" was conceived in the horror genre, and it explores a theory about Jesus’ origins as an exorcist. The practice of exorcism, which is done in the name of Jesus, was not officially introduced until about a century after Jesus’ death. It involves ridding someone’s body of demons and evil spirits. In ancient times, when medicine was in its infancy, healing was done mainly on a spiritual level, essentially treating ailments by getting demons out the body. Thus the theory that, as the most powerful healer of his time, Jesus performed rituals akin to exorcism."
Can 'Jesus:The Miracle Caterer' be that far behind?
