Eddie Izzard May Join New MUNSTERS Series MOCKINGBIRD LANE

Though Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies) is still very much working on getting Mockingbird Lane, the series reboot of The Munsters, off the ground for next season, the production of the pilot was pushed from spring to summer to allow production partners to focus on improving the show’s creative aspects. The delay might pay off as EW has learned that stellar British comedian and The Riches star Eddie Izzard is being lined up to take on the role of the old vampire and shape-shifting grandfather in the pilot from director Bryan Singer.

In addition, Izzard will also have a producers credit on the show, and having his comedic sensibilities on the program can only help. Izzard has been long overdue for some primetime exposure after a great turn on the sadly cancelled FX series The Riches, not to mention some great supporting turns in films like Ocean’s 12 and The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. For a taste of his comedic stylings hit the jump for a great bit about James Bond’s gadgets.
this is the first positive thing to come out of this.

Joe Anderson and Leslie Hope THE RIVER Season Finale Interview

Don't know if this is getting renewed(I would guess no) but it has gotten out of the ghost of the week mode and the past few episodes have actually been really good.

BD Horror News - TV: Famke Janssen Moves Into Netflix's 'Hemlock Grove'

Variety is reporting that the beautiful Famke Janssen (100 Feet, X-Men, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters) and Bill Skarsgard will both topline Eli Roth's gothic mystery Netflix series, "Hemlock Grove," which is to be both written and directed by the man behind Cabin Fever and Hostel.

Netflix's latest foray into original programming is based on the novel by Brian McGreevy. The 13-episode skein will be available to Netflix subscribers in early 2013.

"'Hemlock Grove' centers around the murder of a young girl in a ravaged Pennsylvania steel town."

    Gaumont International Television is producing.

"What's most exciting to me is creating the series for Netflix, which as a feature filmmaker is like telling a story in a new medium," Roth said. "Netflix as a platform is the perfect hybrid of cinema, television and social networking, with the creative freedom to go as dark as the story needs."
Sorry for the triple post(here/Netflix/Horror threads) but this is news that crosses into all three and not everyone checks out all of them. Like the idea of this and it's interesting to see where the Netflix experiment goes. The more places that are fighting for 'different' content the more likely shows, that would never get a chance on the major networks, can get a life somewhere.

Walking Dead kills, Clone Wars ends strong and 21 other genre shows | Blastr

Awake picked up a few more viewers in its third week on the air, but broke even in those all-important rating and share scores. The show is struggling to find its place on Thursday nights, where CBS usually rules, but don't count it out just yet. It's still got time to make up ground.
