'Homeland' Executive Producer Drops Season 2 Hints | CraveOnline

But the truth about Brody may come to light during the second season of "Homeland," this fall. During a brief interview with TVLine, "Homeland" executive producer and showrunner Alex Gansa dropped a number of teasers for the new season, including the identity of Brody's latest nemesis: Mike Faber (Diego Klattenhoff), who was Brody's best friend and the former lover of Brody's wife, Jessica (Morena Baccarin).

“Mike is going to be a big factor,” said Gansa. “Since he’s in military intelligence, he is going to get a hold of the commission report on the assassination attempt against the vice president, and there’s going to be a bunch of stuff in there that doesn’t make sense to him.”

Gansa also addressed the more difficult question of how Carrie would reenter the intelligence community after her mental problems got her thrown out of the CIA. And Gansa was quick to acknowledge that the series can't simply sweep those events under the rug.

“It would have been too far a jump to bring her back into the fold full bore,” admitted Gansa. “However, there are ways that she can work around the edges of the intelligence community that make sense.”

Gansa noted that Carrie will get back involved with the Abu Nazir investigation very quickly, even if she is no longer welcome at the CIA. Regarding Carrie's moment of realization at the end of the first season finale, Gansa added that she will eventually realize that she was right about Brody.

“There’s a tremendous sense out there in the audience of wanting Carrie to know that she was right, that she’s not crazy and is really good at what she does, and that’s the moment we’re going to be building towards,” noted Gansa. “Whether it’s going to happen in Season 2, I can’t tell you.”

It may just be hopeful fanboy-ism on my part but I could see a scenario where they change the whole dynamic of the show and Issac's character hunts others like the serial killer who have been 'altered' by whatever conspiracy caused the captain's people to stage 'the accident' and make Britten what he is. The writers of the show are free to take this idea and run with it by the way. And, what if, the 2 psychiatrists are actually 'handlers'...see that's just one of the directions they can go in, regardless the writing/acting is so strong that I want to see more.
See... this is more Boba Fett Syndrome bull****.

The conspiracy can't possibly be anywhere near as cool as you want it to be. What's the end game? That both realities are real and he's just a brain in a jar somewhere? Then that compromises everything that makes the show actually interesting. It ceases to be a human drama about characters and just becomes another stupid sci-fi red herring laced macguffin fest.

I know that you're an unapologetic honk for that kind of **** but I'm just enjoying a simple show about a simple guy who's dealing with an unfathomable choice.

I don't want or need complex over thought conspiracy bull****! It never ever ever ever EVER works out or is ever as cool as you want it to be. Boba Fett was better when we didn't know who he was!

Ok...I don't recall pissing in yer cheerios...anyway, I am enjoying the simple show as well. But you mentioned that the premise might be 'too thin' to merit more than a one and done. I disagreed and simply presented one of the directions that the concept could be taken in to flesh it out some. I am an unapologetic honk for things I like, as are you(need I cite references?) my original point was that I love AWAKE and I think the overall package is better than any show on network tv right now. All this is pretty irrelevant though because nobody seems to be watching.

Thrones dominates, Being Human gets a bump + 22 other genre shows | Blastr

It seems that Awake might have finally bottomed out. After weeks of dropping viewers, the show posted a small gain Thursday night, but it remained below the 3 million viewer mark and didn't pick up any ratings gains. It's getting harder and harder to image this show surviving.
Hurm. Only chance this has is if NBC decides to let it run and hope for the best. Even with it's low ratings it isn't like they have anything else breaking viewer records.

Wow, Big Bang Theory is really really popular. I feel sick to my stomach.

Hmm... upon reading my post again it came off way more personal and hostile than I had intended.

    Apologies.

We're cool Doc. I know not to take it personal. You actually made some good points so there was that too. I really did like the 'unapologetic honk' tag. That was creative and well deserved. I own that brother.

are you saying this show sucks? (i'm drunk so my normal serious meter is broken). because i've watched this 2-3 times and don't get the love. i think this show is stupid. i'm a science nerd and can appreciate quirks and aspects of that sort of intelligence, but this show just does not do it for me. i honestly don't get why it's so popular.
