Check Out The Trailer For The Stephen Dorff Indie Thriller ‘Brake’ | Geeks of Doom

    http://www.geeksofdoom.com/2012/02/2...hriller-brake/

As a huge fan of single setting films, and an even bigger fan of those with a thriller bend (like say, Buried), one of the more interesting little films coming out relatively soon is the indie thriller Brake.

The film stars Stephen Dorff, and finds our lead trapped inside of a car trunk, kidnapped by a group of terrorists looking to take out the President. Directed by Gabe Torres, Brake looks to be quite intense, and while it’s smaller, the film appears to be rather intriguing particularly when one looks at that great cast.
Looks a little 24 meets Buried...I like Dorff though.

Review: Dim-Witted Edgar Allan Poe Thriller 'The Raven' Is Too Boring To Be A Guilty Pleasure | The Playlist

It is, in short, by some distance the worst film we've seen in this young year. It makes us grieve sincerely for Cusack, one of our favorite stars, and for everyone who wasted their time and energy on the picture. All that being said, with six weeks before the film opens in the U.S, maybe there's time to salvage something by embracing the absurdity. Give it a re-edit, with a comedy score, and turn it into something like an 1840s version of "The Naked Gun." You could even bring Seth Rogen in to lend his voice to Poe's pet raccoon. It would only be slightly more ridiculous than what the filmmakers have ended up with. [F]

Hugh Jackman Once Again Cast in ‘Prisoners’ | /Film

The revenge film Prisoners is in a weird position: it seems like very familiar territory to those who closely follow projects in development, but for those who don’t get too interested in films until they’re shot, it might be a total unknown.

In short, Aaron Guzikowski‘s script landed on the Black List in 2009, after which it was briefly set to be a Bryan Singer film with Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale, before those two actors dropped out and it even more briefly became an Antoine Fuqua and Hugh Jackman movie. Leonardo DiCaprio was interested in it, too, and Michael Fassbender was rumored at one point. In 2011 Incendies director Denis Villeneuve was attached, and he’s finally going to get the movie made, it seems. And he’ll do so with Hugh Jackman in the lead, as the actor just signed on. (Again.)
    one of these days...

Megan Fox And Zoe Saldana Are Getting Together For SWINDLE!!!
Ain't It Cool News: The best in movie, TV, DVD, and comic book news.

Megan Fox and Zoe Saldana together in the same movie...

If nothing else, at least you know it'll look good.

Paramount is hoping for something more than that though, picking up the action-heist flick SWINDLE on spec to be developed by Michael De Luca (MONEYBALL) and frontlined by Saldana and Fox. Deadline reports that the duo has wanted to work together, and this happened to be the vehicle which brought them together. Details of the story are being kept quiet, but Saldana and Fo as a pair of bad-ass chicks sounds about right to me.

I'm extremely curious to see how the Fox-Saldana pairing could turn out. I think Fox continues to get a bum rap as a bad actress, even though she hasn't been called upon to really "act" in any of the projects she's been involved in. Running in slow motion away from robots and explosions while yelling is hardly the type of material we can use to judge one's talents. She's hardly the problem in JONAH HEX, and PASSION PLAY was a failure to all involved, Mickey Rourke and Bill Murray included. I'm reserving judgment on Fox until I actually see her in something that calls upon her to really carry a character - FRIENDS WITH KIDS, THE DICTATOR and THIS IS FORTY should be solid tests - but, in the meantime, I'll at least hope for the best for a film that could wind up looking something like this...

Cogan's Trade, while sounding like a cool old Walter Matthau/Joe Don Baker flick, wasn't exactly going to draw in the kids neither.
