Good thing I don't give a damn about reviews. Saw it last night. I enjoyed it, not Burtons best work but it's not nearly as god awful as critics are trying to make it seem.
I just don't get why people can't just get lost in a movie for 2 hours but instead have to pick apart every little thing. It's not like many of those bloggers even get paid for the **** they write.
Good to know. I really think there is a lot of anti-Burton backlash(a lot of it earned) and sometimes it seems as if the critics try to intentionally harm a movie's chances. They did the same thing with AMC's The Killing.
I took my 15 year old sister to see Dark Shadows yesterday.
The instant the credits started rolling she started shredding it. She had that movie dead to rights too.... I'm not going to sit here and tell you that it's the worst movie you've ever seen or that it was so bad it was offensive because hyperbole has it's place.
I will say this.
There's really nothing memorable or enjoyable about it. A completely boring and forgetable flick with plot holes, editing problems and a million other things someone could "nitpick" if they expected any modicum of quality film making for their $12.
I wish I was recording my little sister talking about this movie because she was absoltutely taking it to school and after about 10 minutes she had come up with about 5 perfectly good ideas of how they could have made it better.
You know what? I take it back....
This movie was horrible and it sucked worse than the holocaust.
That's sweet that you take your little sister to the movies...worse than the holocaust aside.
