Like I said, SPLICE was flawed...but it was a smart ORIGINAL combo of the Frankenstein story mixed with genetic 'tinkering'. DBAOTD was such a horrible misfire. The original was so clever for such a low budge tv flick. GDT had the right idea but the execution was hideous. Clearly it was a 'less is more' kinda thing and despite the terrific opening GDT's version tried to capture the small scale HORROR that the original did so well but his BIG-SCALE movie just exposed all of the flaws that the little-movie-that-could had. He brought a child in and made her the focal point, and it just changed the whole point of view. It BROKE MY HEART.Originally Posted by orpheus

Seriously, decent, but not as good as it could've been.
And I'll probably watch Afraid of the Dark eventually. *shrugs*
