Simon Pegg Talks STAR TREK 2, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE IV, PAUL Sequel, and THE WORLD’S END With Edgar Wright

    On a sequel to Paul?

Pegg: If we could think of a story that was absolutely justifiable, that was worth doing, I would do it again, but for that reason, so I could have that experience again and enjoy working with people, the camaraderie and the friendship. Nick and I have this idea that we had out on the way to Area 51 that was really funny. It was like oh, this could be great. It would cost an absolute ****ing fortune. If it involved more than one Paul, it would mean that wed have to have twice that budget again. The idea was it was called Pauls. Again, it was like From Dusk Til Shaun, that title is so good we have to make that film.

Interview: Simon Pegg And Nick Frost | CraveOnline

Saw the poster for Adventures of TinTin this weekend, didn't realize that Wright and Joe Cornish(Attack the Block) are two of the screenwriters for the flick. Add Pegg/Frost as 2 of the voices and we have a high quantity of cool.

Went to the LAFF screening of Attack The Block last night...and Kingsqueen said it best, "I can hear it now...you are going to tell everyone that this is the movie that SUPER 8 should have been." Man, she can boil it down so well sometimes...

But first...MUCH THANKS to Adgy, for getting there early and saving us great seats. These festivals are ridiculous. They sell tickets to us regular folks and then reserve almost every seat(except for the 4 rows rightnextto the screen) for these self congratulatory media types who really are only there to gladhand each other and find out where the party is afterwards...but enough about that.

This movie rools. I don't want to give away too much...but the creatures are some of the most effective I have seen in soooooo long. Almost cartoony, but also dead serious when they are chasing and drooling hot on someone's heels. The body movement reminded me of the creepy ass 'wheelies' from return to oz. Brilliant work really, cannot say that enough. THIS is how you do creatures Hollywood, are you listening? All that money spent on the Cloverfeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrr I mean Super 8 monster and these guys-in-suits monsters blow it away.
The acting by a bunch of younguns is just as good if not better than Super 8 and Nick Frost and the other stoner character are brilliant bursts of silliness. The music(by Basement Jaxx) is worth mentioning too. This is just a solid fun ride.

Now, at first, the heavy South end London accent is hard to follow, but after a few minutes your ears adjust and you catch the rythym of the whole thing, so, that's no excuse. This movie is getting a small release in a few weeks and I strongly suggest you seek it out. I don't expect that this will make a lot of money simply because so many folks get hung up on the accent bull****. But, those of you that do go check it out, you will be rewarded immensly by my favorite movie of the summer(and prolly the year) so far.

Nerd note: Being 5 feet away from Edgar Wright was pretty damned cool!!!!!
