Help Make the Shaun of the Dead Legos Diorama Legit | Horror Movie, DVD, & Book Reviews, News, Interviews at Dread Central
Earlier this week we featured an insane Legos rendering of the Winchester from Shaun of the Dead erected by a guy who goes by the handle of Yatkuu. The creation has been so well received that there is a possibility it could become an actual set produced by Lego...and you Dread Central readers can help put it over the top.
Yatkuu is actually a Belgian gentleman named Greg, and he's informed us that both Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright were so impressed by his work that they tweeted pics of the Lego Winchester and Wright even posted it on his blog.
Now here's the best part: Lego has set up a website entitled CUUSOO where fans can post their creations and the community can vote to support their favorite designs. If a design gets 10,000 supporters, it goes up for a Lego Review for consideration of it being made into an official set. How cool would that be?
Click here to cast your vote for the Winchester. Let's make it happen, people!

First Image Of Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg “Hard At Work” On The World’s End | Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors
Progress on Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright’s third and final film in The Three Flavors Cornetto Trilogy was casually confirmed by frequent collaborator Nick Frost last month, and now the co-writers have taken to Twitter to confirm to their fans that, indeed, they are “hard at work” on the highly anticipated follow-up to Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz![]()
Disney Sets Edgar Wright to Direct Johnny Depp in THE NIGHT STALKER
WhatWhatWhat????
That's interesting as hell. Love The Night Stalker...can they pull this off? Color me curious.Last summer we learned that Johnny Depp and his Infinitum Nihil production company had teamed up with Disney on two potential projects: a drama centering on Paul Revere and a feature film adaptation of the 1970s TV movie The Night Stalker. The latter was being developed as a potential starring vehicle for Depp, and now Disney has made an inspired directing choice for the project: Edgar Wright. The original Night Stalker TV movie and subsequent series focused on tabloid reporter Carl Kolchack, whose investigations always lead to perpetrators of the supernatural sort (ie. zombies, vampires, werewolves, oh my!). Hit the jump for more on the project and the nature of Wright and Depp’s involvement.
In case you live under a rock, Wright is responsible for the stellar feature trifecta of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. He’s undeniably one of the most exciting young filmmakers working today and has a knack for infusing each project with his wholly unique and wildly entertaining visual and verbal style. Deadline reports that no writer has been set on The Night Stalker yet, and Wright will “oversee and shape the project” alongside Depp and his Infinitum Nihil partner Christi Dembrowski from the ground up.
Wright has co-written his previous directorial efforts, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes a stab at the screenplay himself. I can’t help but feel giddy at the prospect of Wright and Depp teaming up on this kind of material; the story elements are right up their alley and it’s not hard to see Wright knocking this one out of the park. The project is being developed as a star vehicle for Depp, and the film will be tailored to fit Disney’s family-friendly mandate so the rating is likely to be PG-13.
Given that Wright is coming aboard during the inception stage, production on The Night Stalker is most likely a ways off. Wright is attached to direct Ant-Man for Marvel and wrote the script with Attack the Block’s Joe Cornish. Furthermore, if Twitter is to be believed, Wright is also working on the script for the final film in his so-called “Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy” alongside Simon Pegg. The pic would reunite the Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz team of Pegg and Nick Frost.
A FANTASTIC FEAR OF EVERYTHING Trailer
click for video. The trailer for A Fantastic Fear of Everything has gone online. Simon Pegg stars as a children’s author who tries to switch careers and write a gruesome Victorian murder mystery, but his wide range of phobias throws him into horrifying nightmares where he’s forced to confront his demons, which includes his love life, his laundromat (or as they call it in the UK, “launderette”), and a mysterious stop-motion animated hedgehog. This is exactly what’s going to happen to J.K. Rowling.
I’m digging the visual style directors Crispian Mills and Chris Hopewell have gone for, and it looks like they may have pulled off a nice blend of fantastical imagery and dark comedy. Hit the jump to check out the trailer. A Fantastic Fear of Everything currently doesn’t have a US release date, but it will open in the UK on June 8th.
Here’s the official synopsis for A Fantastic Fear of Everything:
Jack (Simon Pegg) is a children’s author turned crime novelist whose detailed research into the lives of Victorian serial killers has turned him into a paranoid wreck, persecuted by the irrational fear of being murdered. When Jack is thrown a life-line by his long-suffering agent and a mysterious Hollywood executive takes a sudden and inexplicable interest in his script, what should be his ‘big break’ rapidly turns into his ‘big breakdown’, as Jack is forced to confront his worst demons; among them his love life, his laundry and the origin of all fear.
