I heareded the Ron Burgundy appearance on SportsCenter has been postponed due to sensitivity for the Jameis Winston coverage.
Well, that is disappointing. :(
Adam McKay Says He Might Make A G-Rated 'Anchorman' Spin-Off About Ron Burgundy's Son & Dog | The Playlist
Jesus, wait for the movie to come out at least. In an interview with Collider (via AV Club), McKay confirmed somewhat accidentally that—on top of building another alternate cut of the sequel possibly even for theatrical release—he is planning another “Anchorman” installment that doesn't necessarily need Will Ferrell involved. “I guess it's out of the bag that Ron has a son? I mean, I guess it's kinda out of the bag that Ron has a son? Or did I just let it out of the bag?” asked McKay, before adding, “I just let it out of the bag. So we wanted to do the adventures of his son, Walter Burgundy, and Baxter. And I actually pitched it to Adam Goodman at Paramount and he said, 'That's not a bad idea.' So there's a chance we might be doing a 'Milo & Otis,' G-rated, PG, 'Adventures Of Walter And Baxter,' which would be amazing."
He added that he's always wanted to explore Baxter's adventures “when he's not around [Ron Burgundy and co.],” and an absurd family film featuring the pup and Burgundy's son is more than capable of fitting the bill. McKay also pointed to a possible “Anchorman 2.5,” which would be spliced into the film and recount one of Ron Burgundy's lost weekends while stuck in an elevator. He said that “it would take us two weeks to write that script, minimum,” but on top of the kids sequel, alternate cut, planned Broadway show, book and more it's probably best to just plan for “Anchorman 2” when it hits theaters on December 20th and take it slowly from there. Just don't forget to wear your official "Anchorman" Jockeys.
ANCHORMAN 2 Review. ANCHORMAN 2: THE LEGEND CONTINUES Stars Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd | Collider
Encouraging...reviewer addresses all the potential stumbling blocks, and yet still comes away with a favorable opinion...
There will be arguments about which film is better: Anchorman or Anchorman 2, and declaring a victor is pointless because they’re both hilarious. The question isn’t which film is “better”. The question is which film will have staying power, and I can’t answer that because I’ve only seen Anchorman 2 once. Although both movies thrive on the outlandish unpredictability, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy has thrived because of its durability. We all know that milk was a bad choice, diversity is an old, wooden ship, and you have to keep your head on a swivel when you’re in a vicious cockfight. I don’t know if Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues will be as quotable or even as funny on a second viewing. But I can’t wait to find out.
Box Office: Anchorman 2 earns $8.1 million on Wednesday
Steve Carrell with a nice showing on Howard Stern the other day. Actually came off as a solid dude as opposed to the android persona I usually get from him.
