I've NEVER defended Smallville. I simply admitted to enjoying it. In fact it's the crown jewel in my "just cus you like something doesn't mean you have to think it's good" argument.

Too often people assume that everything they like is good. So when someone attacks something you like, you feel as if they're assaulting your good taste.

NOTHING could be further from the truth.

I recognized Smallville as trash from the first episode I ever watched (somewhere in season 4 I think) and I never felt insulted or diminished by reading other peoples negative reviews of it.

Smallville was garbage. I loved it. I also love Del Taco.
