Ok, finally watched the first 2 eps of Arrow. It isn't as cheesy as it could be...by far. He kills, the fighting/action scenes are good(except for EVERYONES inability to hit him with a single bullet from a fully automatic gun although he can fire off an arrow after after parkouring all over the place with 100% accuracy and blinding speed) and it's fairly fast paced and likeable. The acting is stiff...it's the CW...and the dialogue is a little clunky at times too. It's fullon fanboy w/tons of easter eggs(lotsa name drops of artists) and they are smart bringing in DC universe periphery. Too obvious with him calling his kid sister Speedy and her dabbling in drugs. I like it...a lot. And I think it will only get better. WINNER.

I'm watching Arrow, not loving it but I'm entertained. Ollie is one of my favorite heroes.

Revolution lost me half way through episode 2. Ugh. . . I never watched Lost, but Revolution reminds me of all the complaints I heard about Lost.
Also, I read most of Stirling's Emberverse which this show is ripping off in a huge way without most of the fun/wonder parts.
I just can't buy that all tech fails (mostly) and people really haven't changed much in outlook or values.

As long as they steer clear of the Smallville "Every episode someone gets mindcontrolled/amnesia/killed/exiled" trope they should be fine.

Arrow producer on how last week's HUGE reveal changes everything | Blastr

Did Revolution's creator just tell us why the lights went out? | Blastr

Hey Doc Naysay...your opinion of Revolution is on record but you have been kinda quiet regarding Arrow. I know you sorta liked Smallville and I was wondering are you watching? Is this better than your expectations or in line...or worse? Predictions?

Oliver battles the reimagined Royal Flush Gang in 5 new Arrow pics | Blastr

ok...Royal Flush Gang...nicely done. It does not have the flair of the comics but I get what they are going for and I like it. ***_________ better not be dead after being the baddie in only one episode though.

I've only seen the pilot so far... it wasn't terrible but I didn't love it the most.

    We'll see.

I thought it was funny that the detective is whats his name from that show whats it called about the magic detective from Sci-Fi...

Oh wow...I never saw that Dresden show but I love the books. Can't see him in that part. He was on the River and, I think another show that failed so I did read some reviews that called him a showkiller. I really like Arrow. It's kinda like a nice Elseworlds version of Green Arrow. The lead, who I didn't care for on the last season of Hung, is decent, there's some silliness, but for the most part...i'm cool with it. And sorry Doc, but after another good episode last night I am growing kinda fond of Revolution. I know you are rooting against it but I don't think it's that bad at all. The dude who was the Cape, playing the big bad, is pretty terrible though. Especially when surrounded by superior character actors like Gus Fring and the guy from Justified as his lieutenants. He is wearing guyliner and trying to hard to be subtly menacing even though he has a perm. Horribly miscast.

It's not that I'm rooting against it so much that I can't see it lasting more than a season and a half. Maybe I'm wrong and it gets 6 seasons and a movie...

Hey Doc...you sure you don't work for NBC?

Oh, no! The lights go out (temporarily) for NBC's Revolution | Blastr

According to the press release: "Revolution -- the season's only bona fide new hit series -- will return and follow The Voice on March 25 (10-11 p.m. ET) when it concludes its current fall broadcast dates in November."

Apparently, NBC doesn't remember how well that worked out for The Event or ABC's V and FlashForward. Those shows struggled after coming back.

Revolution seemed to be doing well in the ratings, especially among the coveted 18-49 year-old viewers, and has been averaging just under 9 million total viewers.

The drama Deception will be taking over Revolution's Monday night 10 p.m. time slot as of January 7, with The Biggest Loser as it's lead in.

The Voice is certainly a better lead-in and is NBC's most popular series. But taking a serialized show like Revolution off for nearly four months could be deadly. Time will tell.
    You win Doc...you win.
