Saboteur, Shadow of a Doubt, Rope & The Trouble with Harry Blu-rays

Universal Studios Home Entertainment is releasing individual versions of four films from the Alfred Hitchcock Masterpiece Collection: Saboteur (1942) and Rope (1948) on May 7th, Shadow of a Doubt (1943) on June 4th and The Trouble with Harry (1955) on July 2nd.

Plans are also underway to bring six more individual Alfred Hitchcock titles to Blu-ray later this year. Pre-order listings and final cover art are already available for: The Man Who Knew Too Much, Marnie, Torn Curtain, Topaz, Frenzy and Family Plot, although exact street dates have yet to be revealed. The Hitchcock Essentials Collection, due on June 4th, includes Rear Window, Vertigo and The Birds, but plans for individual releases are still TBD.
    Awesome news.

What's it going to take for you to get on the Blu Train, Orph?

    Heh!

And that Swamp Thing blu will only count if they include that Adrienne Barbeau boob scene. The DVD I have cut it out and I was not amused.

Pretty sure it will be fully restored, will double check.

    BOOOOOOOO

Scream announced Craven’s 1982 adaptation of the DC comic book via its Facebook page, additionally confirming yet-to-be-announced extra features. This release will be the 91-minute U.S. cut, not the extended international version that was originally (and accidentally) released by MGM in 2000.

As you may recall, that version created a minor stir when a mother purchased a copy of the film (which carries a PG rating) for her young son and was understandably shocked by the copious amounts of nudity throughout. As someone who owns that long since discontinued DVD, I can confirm that neither the gratuitous topless shot of Barbeau nor the bizarre naked prostitute shots at Arcane’s party add much to the mix besides throwing it out of tonal whack. I always viewed Swamp Thing as an entry-level creature feature for kids, and it should continue to be enjoyed by them.

Hey, I watched it as a kid and I turned out okay.

Besides, I appreciated the wet dream fodder that boob scene gave me. It was one of my childhood highlights.
