    Blu-ray Review: The Lone Ranger (2013) | High-Def Digest

    Final Thoughts

I not only liked, but I actually kind of loved 'The Lone Ranger', which I realize puts me in a huge minority (although Quentin Tarantino seems to agree with me, so I'm feeling better already) among critics and movie fans. I found the film to be everything that I expect a big budget 'popcorn' movie to be, and at times more moving and emotionally engaging than I expected. While I can't change the minds of those who have already watched and dismissed the movie, maybe those who haven't yet seen it and happen upon this review will give it a chance. Highly recommended.
Telling you...it's not as bad as advertised.

    Blu-ray Review: Kick-Ass 2 | High-Def Digest

    Final Thoughts

Picking up where the last film left off, Jeff Wadlow writes and directs 'Kick-Ass 2' with the same enthusiasm, visual gusto, and penchant for wild ultra-violence as its predecessor, but the film lacks a truly engaging story. With the same cast returning, plus the addition of Jim Carrey, the follow-up is entertaining enough, with several humorous and action-packed moments, but there's a weird disconnect between the characters and the violent repercussions of their masked vigilantism. The Blu-ray, on the other hand, is top-notch, with an excellent audio and video presentation. With a good set of supplements to boot, the overall package makes for a good rental, but diehard fans are sure to be satisfied with their purchase.
Also, better than you were told.

Music to my ****in' ears. The DVD I have of the original film is pretty crappy.

Specs have not yet been announced.
