I made a lame joke not too long ago that the way things were going most of us soon to be English grads were not going to have any jobs at Borders left for us, lol! I was only partially joking since I did see this happening to Borders when they started to start closing stores left and right. It is a bummer since I did like the stores and I don't like Barnes & Noble not having any competition. *sigh*

yea i love the random 20-40% coupons i get from borders weekly for ANY book, entire purchase, etc..

all i get from B&N is "get 30% off this crappy Danielle Steel book that is the same story she's written 15 times over... but the cover is blue on this one" i really dislike that B&N pushes you to buy a certain book versus the borders coupons

Even with the coupons, Borders is over priced. Especially on music and movies

the books are 99% of the time the same exact price set by the publishing companies. but ya i would never buy music or movies at a book store. you can get better prices and more selection elsewhere... unless its a super good deal

I found myself buying dvds on occasion at Borders when they had sales. And as much as I liked Borders, sometimes it is just way easier to shop at Amazon, since I don't have to worry about not finding what I am looking for.

I always liked Borders much more than Barnes & Noble for some reason. I think maybe because you could be a rewards member for free?

I'll have to keep an eye on the store in Brea. I got some really good **** for really cheap at some of the last closing sales.

Horrible news. We usually just walk up the street to the one on Victory/Canoga a few times a week and just hang out, have coffee and check out books. Now what....For some reason, the B&N just does not have the same feel to it, particularly the one at the AMC mall nearby.
