Watched this again last night and it's just as funny, if not funnier the second time. Damn it! I can't wait until I can buy this on BR.
*cough* Pirates 4 *cough*
But for serious....
as long as they're actually making funny movies I think this is great.
I'm just scared that "Bad Teacher" is going to suck ass, make a boat load of cash and the market will be flooded with even more unfunny, past-their-not-even-that-impressive-prime actresses who love to think they're hilarious.
He's got a point with the Pirates thing. But Hollywood later, rinse, repeats a lot of stuff. Like, how many stupid alien invasion/ end of the world movies can we possibly have? So why roll your eyes are R rated chick movies? I think it's good. As long as they don't suck like Sex and the City 2. Plus it's better than a stupid movie all centered around **** buddy-ism.
You guys have me wrong. Not condemning Bridesmaids for creating a new genre(the Chickdude flick) I am condemning the countless 'less-inspired' knockoffs to come. The comparisons to POTC are pointless(and just spiteful). Hollywood has yet to make movies calculated to ride the coattails of the Pirates franchise. I was merely trying to imply that when Hollywood sees an original idea actually make $$$ and exceed expectations, all of a sudden there is a glut of likeminded projects...hence the lather rinse repeat comment. I have nothing against Bridesmaids in the slightest.
New Paul Feig/Judd Apatow Film Might Star Jon Hamm and Melissa McCarthy
Count me in.Deadline says the film is about “a guy who becomes obsessed with a woman” and that the template for the guy is Jon Hamm and the template for the woman is Melissa McCarthy.
