Default Clive Burr...we hardly knew ye.

Take a moment to pause and remember the great Clive Burr today. Spin a few of those early Maiden records and listen and marvel how alive and strong he sounded on his drum set; his muscularity cut through those records like a laser beam, and helped contribute to the success of one of Heavy Metal’s greatest offerings in Iron Maiden. RIP to one of its high water showmen, who will always have his place and niche in the history of the genre, Clive Burr.

Just the Run To The Hills drum part alone earns him a place in history. Totally distinctive and totally kick-ass.

I never got to see him perform in person, my first Maiden concert was in 88 or 89 at the Long Beach arena. Niko had since took over.

    RIP Clive.

funny, i was just thinking about him the other day... for some reason, i thought he had died, and that was the reason Nicko McBrain took over. but a friend told me that Clive was going through some s*** and as the band were about to hit big, they thought he was too unstable and didn't hesitate to ditch him.

bummer... Number was one of the coolest albums ever!
