Neon Indian, Real Estate & Explosions in the Sky are great.
Madness should be fun as well as the Buzzcocks. Hives too.
St. Vincent sucks monkey balls.
Squeeze will not have the og lineup. Jools doesn't want any part of it.
Is there a more overrated band than Radiohead?
Be sure to bring your sleeping bag for Mazzy Star.
At the Drive In should be interesting.
atari teenage riot!
underwhelming... but i gotta say, day 3 seems to be the most interesting.
those of you going, i urge you to check out the Gaslamp Killer... he usually does something fun.
if Amon Tobin is performing his ISAM set in all its glory, he's going to OWN the weekend... i just don't know where and how considering it'll be an awfully difficult thing to do unless his setup is isolated somewhere.
i didn't realize the black keys were that popular...to headline a day at coachella is pretty huge.
Rumors are that Black Sabbath was to be one of the headliners, but had to pull out at the last moment due to Tony Iommi's lymphoma. The articles say it's unclear which of the headliners was "bumped up", but between The Black Keys, Radiohead and Dr. Dre/Snoop Dogg - which one do you think it was, c'mon.
they've blown up quite a bit in the last 3-4 years even though they've been around for quite a while. everyone i know loves this latest album and brothers and are subsequently discovering their older stuff. i think all the radio play and commercials featuring their music have helped them.
there was even a bit on the colbert report about what commercial whores they are, lol:

i wonder how a bunch of these bands will translate from playing little clubs to such a big stage.
there's the black keys to some extent although now that they've got some additional musicians touring with them, there won't really be that tiny band (2 members) on a giant stage syndrome.
there's refused, whose story is here:
Refused Official Site
(essentially playing tiny living room shows and small clubs to re-uniting to play this)
and then there's at the drive in, who from everyone i've heard who has seen them, thinks their sound and show is more appropriate for a small venue.
it'll definitely be interesting to hear from the people who are going what they think of these much hyped reunions, if it lives up to it all.
