Universal Acquires David Guggenheim's 364
Judging from the number of projects Ron Howard is attached to, his ambitious adaptation of The Dark Tower looks to be all but dead. Deadline reports that Universal has acquired a pitch entitled 364 from David Guggenheim, and Ron Howard is set to direct. The film revolves around a man who, on one day each year, has superpowers. The title refers to the number of days a year he spends thinking about what heroic deeds he will perform when the day comes.
The Hellfire Club Movie That Never Was, And The X-Men Movies That Might Be Soon Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors
That initial appearance in Xmen was pretty much the high water mark in X-comics(and top 5 as far as comic team story lines) as far as I am concerned. It's all been pretty downhill since then.I had always wanted to do the Hellfire Club because they’re really fascinating. I almost wanted to spin them off into another movie… It didn’t get to script. It got to formulating who we would use and which story we would use because there’s the whole Jean Grey part of the Hellfire story. I like the whole Jean Grey involvement. I thought that was really interesting.
What i think is cool (and I don't mean Cool!!!, i mean cool) is that they are aware of his inability to meet the schedule and so are doing fill ins in a structured way. Such a nice change of pace from books being constantly late or having a ****ty fill in artist because no one else is available. At least this way, it can be planned ahead.
It's not that I'm excited about it, I'm just glad they're heading it off at the pass.
