Starfire/Harley Quinn were just polished up a bit, I can live with that. The revamp of Waller is just about as complete as it gets. They turned her from an older Oprah type to Zoe frikin Saldana...and Monsignor, that dog will just not hunt!

therein is the insult. Wall's backstory(in the terrific first collected tpb of Suicide Squad) was pretty much that she lost her whole family to street crime. It was well done and very believable. I cannot imagine her having the stone will that she has had throughout her history without that very important backstory. The 'pretend' Waller barely looks old enough to menstruate much less have a family. It is a grievous insult to the credibility of someone who has shown zero compassion, presenting criminals with a 'hey, you live you walk free, take it or leave it' proposition. Even the members of the team that are not criminals get offered pretty much the same atitude. To Waller all are expendable, losing is unacceptable. The whole 'Suicide Squad' concept worked because Waller was unafraid of anyone because she herself had absolutely nothing left to lose anymore. Prettying her up undermines the whole concept. And why? Do we really need all of the DC universe to be beautiful? I was pissed enough with Green Arrow's trademark look being exchanged for a generic look. That I may have eventually forgiven...this though is unacceptable.

Review: Black Panther: Man Without Fear #523 | CraveOnline
T'Challa has long been the best, as far as the majors attempt to make an african american more than just a token character, still, it sounds like Marvel still does not know how to handle what seems to be a '...never -a-bride' hero. Hey Marvel...Djimon Hansou as a cameo in the AVENGERS. Think about it.
