If you liked Doom Patrol, you're probably safe with Invisibles. They're not the same, but the level of WTF is pretty close.

Dial H is getting better every issue.

No, The Invisibles > Doom Patrol.

Yeah, Dial H is getting better. Mieville still has to prove himself.

No argument there. It's been a while since I read Doom Patrol, though, but I remember a certain sense of bewilderment similar to that of the first time I read The Invisibles.

I still haven't read Anarchy For The Masses, the Invisibles companion book, but maybe if I can swing picking this giant collection up I'll read it alongside.

Anarchy For The Masses? Read it.

Essays can be written on The Invisibles. It's so rich.

But then again, essays, could be written on most Vertigo series. Dunno, The Invisibles just struck a nerve with me, not that The Sandman, or Transmet, or The Preacher didn't, but there was something special about that series.

More on Marvel's Joss Whedon news, including how he's now involved with basically everything through 2015

Now, about this live-action TV series. It just so happens that there is already a Marvel TV series in the very early stages of development -- Guillermo del Toro's Hulk series. It also just so happens that del Toro was hinting at a very big name writer for this show following a meeting with Marvel:

I had one meeting with Marvel after Avengers and we had a very, very good chat. We have a writer that we want to bring on board, a very, very concrete name. I can't reveal it, but we want to wait for that writer. It's a writer who is otherwise engaged. So right now we are in a holding pattern until that writer becomes free. Then we're going to do a new draft of the script.

Well, that's curious, isn't it? It's pure speculation, so don't take it as any species of fact or truth, but it's certainly interesting. It's also probably more likely that Whedon has been marinating his own ideas for a while now (::coughcough::Black Widow series::coughcough:, and now he has all this Marvel clout (and money) to make it happen.
    That would be really cool.
