Will George RR Martin’s New HBO Deal Mean A GAME OF THRONES Prequel? | Badass Digest

The most obvious answer is Wild Cards, a superhero anthology series headed by Martin. The series is made up of superhero short stories and novels set in a shared universe, with crossovers happening in a way that the whole tells a mosaic story. It got its start in a unique fashion, as a roleplaying campaign that Martin himself GMed. The question is who, exactly has the rights to all the stories and characters, but there's no reason Martin couldn't just do the same thing again under the same title and bring in new people. In fact, having an HBO superhero anthology that, in some unexpected way, ties up in episode 12 would be sort of amazing.

I know what it won't mean: A book titled 'The Winds Of Winter' without the words "and Brandon Sanderson" at the bottom of the front cover.

Geoff Johns leaving the Green Lantern comics makes the news. But he seems to be taking everyone with him. May will see the final issues of Green Lantern-related books from Green Lantern Corps‘ Peter Tomasi and Fernando Pasarin, New Guardians‘ Tony Bedard and Red Lanterns‘ Peter Milligan. It’s a mass exodus!

So… what’s to come in June?

Coming This April From Shout! Factory: Marvel Knight’s Animation ‘Inhumans’ Movie On DVD! | Geeks of Doom

Cool Beans. I soooooo want Marvel to bring the Inhumans to life. If they can pull off Guardians, and that remains to be seen, expect these guys to be next. Man, I sooooooo loved the alien-ness of the Inhumans when I was a kid.

    DC's Orson Scott Card/Superman Controversy | CraveOnline

Orson Scott Card is a successful science fiction author. His book Ender's Game is going to be a movie starring Harrison Ford soon, and has already been a series of comics from Marvel, who also hired him to write Ultimate Iron Man comics in the past.

Orson Scott Card is also a Mormon and an outspoken opponent of the legalization of gay marriage, and he's on the board of the National Organization for Marriage, which ironically actually opposes marriage, at least for same-sex couples.

Now, Orson Scott Card has been hired by DC Comics to co-write a story to the digital comic project Adventures of Superman, and a backlash has hit almost immediately. CBR has published a screed against Card, claiming his selection diminishes the work DC has done to promote LGBT equality, with such titles as Batwoman and prominent gay characters like Green Lantern Alan Scott, Apollo and Midnighter. The requisite petition has started among fans at Allout.org to get Card fired from the project.

For their part, DC apparently released a statement to Fox News on the controversy. "As content creators we steadfastly support freedom of expression, however the personal views of individuals associated with DC Comics are just that – personal views – and not those of the company itself.”

Card hasn't said anything yet, but Fox News quotes Brian Brown, the president of that National Organization for Marriage, as saying “This is completely un-American and it needs to be stopped. Simply because we stand up for traditional marriage, some people feel like it’s okay to target us for intimidation and punishment.”
I did not know that about Card. While I find his philosophy outdated and laughable I have to come down against the protesters on this one. As long as he doesn't use the forum for his politics, the man should be allowed to work. To outright ban him from anything is as hateful and ridiculous as his anti-gay marraige stance.

I pretty much agree. And I don't remember anyone giving Marvel too much **** when he was writing Ultimate Iron Man for them.
