I really don't think it's appropriate to include George Bush and Mark Zuckerberg along with guys like Stalin and Hitler.

Frankly I don't even think Mark David Chapman belongs there either.

Tsk... I'm getting old and lame.
No, I actually am in the 'old guy lame corner' with you Doc. I thought these were kinda in poor taste in general and the artwork/style somehow made them moreso. I thought the Zuckerberg one was a little unecessary too. The Bush one...not going to argue too hard against it's inclusion. And Chapman, although not on the scale of the other mass murderers, well...he fits the bill. Just thought these were kinda like weird professional political graffiti you see sometimes. I was going through a bunch of old posters a while back and I found one I had of The Mass Murderer Last Supper. Don't know if anyones seen it, but where I had a perverse fascination with it in my younger years, it now just turns my stomach. So yeah. I agree with you.

Need some advice. Looking to buy a graphic novel for the iPad and it has come down to these:

Batman: Year One (which I am actually leaning towards)
DMZ (are all the Vertigo/DC titles the most expensive in comicdom??)
    Marvel Zombie
    Fallen Son (death of Cap)
    Avengers: Red Zone

I know the answer will probably be "All the above" but I can't really afford all the titles.

What do you say everyone? I want good story and good graphics (not asking much, huh?).

I'm gonna go off the board Roenick...not sure if they are available
    Marshall Law
    The Boys

And...if you are gonna do any vertigo, and if you have not read...PREACHER. Yeah...Preacher. I have the entire run in bagged comics, the tpbs and If/when I get a kindle/Ipad/etc...it will more than likely be my first purchase.

So really appreciate the help. I have read The Boys and love them. Unfortunately very limited on titles with iPad. It has gotten better in the last few months though and they appear to be adding content. No Preacher and no Marshall Law. Not sure what to do now. Buy more regular books or save iTunes bucks for when they add the titles you mention.

    Batman: Year One. No question.

DMZ is really good, but it's also a 60 issue series. Recommended.
I've only read the first Marvel Zombies mini-series and it was fun, but nothing special.
Fallen Son you can pass on. It was ok.
I've actually not read Avengers: Red Zone and am ok with that.

Batman: Year One is brilliant, though. Great art. While you're reading it, look for the bits Chris Nolan cribbed for Batman Begins.

IDW Will Release ‘Judge Dredd: The Complete Brian Bolland’ Deluxe Hardcover Collection | Geeks of Doom

some of the BEST b&w art you will ever see. This is MUST BUY if you are a comic book fan. God, his lines...the bold outlines...man I dig Bolland's work.

    Must buy indeed.

Bolland also did the covers for The Invisibles, which is like the greatest series ever.

It's almost criminal to color Bolland's work. Still nice, but the b&w stuff just kills!!!!

The dude is rocking it on the covers for Dial H right now.

Would love to see him do some more interior work, though. Guess I'll have to settle for that Dredd book.
