Class war comics: Scrap Iron Man versus international capital - Boing Boing

China Mieville's posted his rejected pitch for a six-issue comic called "Scrap Iron Man," a class-war response to Iron Man in which workers come together in the spirit of international solidarity to build mecha suits that are used to right economic injustice.

I want a China Mieville comic book!

What's the story with Mieville's Swamp Thing? It only went 6 issues, right? or did it ever even come out. I see SPOILERS











that Swamp Thing/Alec Holland was coming back in Brightest Day, so it's not like they aren't trying to relaunch.

Never came out. It was scrapped once it was decided that Swampy was needed/wanted back in the main DCU. IIRC, they had a few issues in the can when the decision was made, too, so maybe someday?

I have all of a sudden become interested in this Brightest Day/Blackest Night stuff and maybe start looking to pick up the trades now. Swamp Thing is such an awesome character.

Starting a new convention, or any big event, is an incredibly hard thing to do. I've never done it, but I'm pretty sure I'm right about that. But I've just spoken to Mark Millar and he's a very happy man tonight. Kapow 1.0(London) has gone incredibly well, possibly much better than some expected, and everyone I've been speaking to has really only had positive things to say.
