Tindersticks are playing in LA at the Luckman (?) on Saturday, April 30th.
This could be something special and rare - the next night they are in San Francisco for a show and symposium at the San Francisco Film Festival to celebrate the release of their collected soundtrack work for Claire Denis.
If you know this band, the interesting note is that the San Francisco show is a reunion with their violin player Dicken Hinchcliffe - this is something I NEVER thought I would see again. Hopefully they will use the LA show as a tune up for that event.
It's not general admission, so if anyone wants to go, pm me by tomorrow night, and lets get some seats in the orchestera section while they still available
Edit- I just bought two. My wife is a huge fan and this is a special band for us. Still want to see you guys there!

son of a bitch, just found out combichrist is opening for rammstein!!! now i gotta pay extra for a damn floor ticket
We got to hang out in the upstairs bar with the band after the show. Dickon was getting VERY friendly with a couple of chicks, and Stuart Staples was as stoned as any human being I have ever seen - like high school, permagrin, hanging on to the walls stoned. I got my ultra rare Live in Amsterdam cd signed, got sloppy drunk, and had one hell of a time with my favorite band in the world.
Tindersticks second record is a classic that I wish more people would listen to and acknowledge as such. It got plenty of accolades from British press upon release but not so here in North America
Travelling Light is a beautiful song and although there is an official video for it (which I love) it doesn't need the distraction of visuals to impact

The true classic song from this record is a song called Tiny Tears

You've been lying in bed for a week now
Wondering how long it'll take
You haven't spoken or looked at her in all that time
It's the easiest line you could break
She's been going (about) around her business as usual
Always with that melancholy smile
But you were too busy looking into your (affairs) head
To see those tiny tears in her eyes
Tiny tears make up an ocean
Tiny tears make up a sea
Let them pour out, pour out all over
Don't let them pour all over me
How can you hurt someone so much your supposed to care for
Someone you said you'd always be there for
But when that water breaks you know you're gonna cry, cry
When those tears start rolling you'll be back
You've been thinking about the time, you've been dreading it
But now it seems that moment has arrived
She's at the edge of the bed, she gets in
But it's hard to turn the opposite way tonight
Stuart Staples baritone lilts and twists each song into a story and experience that's impossible to shake. Next time the weather is gray and your thinking about old friends and relationships, put this record on and you'll feel yourself change inside.
As a bonus they are INCREDIBLE live! One of the best small stage performances I have seen from any band.

Saw the Prodigy show at the MGM and it was AMAZING!!!!!!! I saw them a couple years ago at the Palladium which was also bad ass... the recent tour had much more amazing lights.
Also, freekin System of a Down had pre-sale tickets go on sale yesterday for a show at the Pearl in Palms Las Vegas. It must have sold out in less than an hour. DAMMMMN IT!!!!!
