Here are my top performances on Day 2:

Buzzcocks
Kasabian
Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Squeeze
Radiohead
fIREHOSE

I'm honestly not sure if the Buzzcock's actual performance was better than anyone else's. But on a fun scale alone it obliterated everything. Probably the most fun I've ever had at Coachella in my years attending.

Kasabian were MUCH better than I remember (saw them at The Fonda years ago when they opened for The Music). They're polished, have great songs, and were a blast to watch. Hopefully this performance will help open the door wider for them, state-side.

GY!BE struggled with sound bleed. It was ridiculous. This is the wrong venue for them... but anyone missing them in favor of getting a better 'spot' for Radiohead blew it. Their performance was mesmerizing.

Here's a bit more on the Buzzcocks-

Best set of the second day! Blistering, fukin old dudes turning in hit after hit. The pit was crazy! I lasted probably till 2/3rds the way in before I literally wasn't able to catch my breath. Shoes flying everywhere. Orgasm Addict felt like a mini-riot. I've seen some good Coachella crowd responses in the past (Refused the night before, for example). But this show was the most fun I think I've ever had at Coachella!

Also, I have never done the autograph thing... till yesterday! I bought 4 of the small Orgasm Addict stickers from the merch booth. Then I had each member of the Buzzcocks sign one. Now I'll get all four framed on board!. When Pete asked what I was doing he said "ah, I see what you're up to... good idea!" Then I gushed like a freakin school boy and told him I thought he was the most awesomest thing since the beginning of awesome.

I am sore as hell, but getting ready for day 3 and At the Drive In!

Coachella crowd: although I gotta question where some of you learned to crowd surf--the objective is not always "hurt someone by kicking as hard as I can"-- major props for showing up in force and giving back all the energy Refused were putting out. ... But the dude who kicked me on the jaw? Not so fine.

considering the kind of "punk"ers who follow the group AND find coachella to be a suitable way to see them, i'm not surprised at all. this happens all the time with highly hyped punk bands/performances. the lowest common denominator comes out. just be glad politics weren't enforced...

Just saw the Buzzcocks at SLO Brew in San Luis Obispo last night. One of the most fun shows I've been to in YEARS. They sounded fantastic and were clearly having a great time. The crowd's energy level was at 11 for the entire show. Nice mini pit going for the young 'uns while us geezers stood back a ways and just danced our assess off non-stop. I've got bruises all over my legs for some reason..... The only downer was the opening act, Dollyrots. God, they suck ass.

Putting aside a short set from my favorite band, Weird Fishes Arpeggio might have been the top single moment of the weekend for me. And Give Up The Ghost with just Thom and Johnny was so beautiful.

Pulp was another highlight. Worth being front center for. Jarvis was being Jarvis at his very best. Other highlights included The Vaccines, Metronomy and Keep Shelly in Athens.

I know I missed, or only caught parts of some great sets for lesser acts (most if not all of it due to friendship and loyalty, rather than stupidity, ges). Butwhaddayagonnado

Just found out that Sigur Ros will be in concert on aug 12 at the Hollywood Forever Cemetary (of all places). Anybody ever been to a concert there?

^Sure. Just last year. What do ya want to know about it?

Btw, nobody is just waltzing into tickets for Sigur Ros at this venue. You'll all need to have your ticket buying A-game on!

What's it like? From what I read it looks to be lawn seating? No reserved seating? If so, I may pass, maybe they'll come back and play at a traditional venue. Besides I'd be going alone. I don't know anybody else that likes 'em.
