i will be checking out Paul Banks tomorrow night at the Observatory
Late (WAY late) to this thread... I'll concentrate on this week as I've seen Soundgarden at Jimmy Kimmel Live! and a great old school punk show at House of Blues last night with Fear (performing the iconic debut in its entirety), Agent Orange and D.I.![]()
ha the 2nd show sold out this morning in about 15 minutes as well. i had the opportunity to buy presale tickets wednesday, but decided against it. i will wait for the openers to play smaller venues.
they should add 3 or 4 more shows, or perhaps they should've just done one at irvine meadows like social D.
Bruce Springsteen and the "E Street Band" on Tuesday at the Honda Center and then Thursday at Jobbing.com arena in Phoenix. 63 years old and still proves it all night. Most likely a three hour show, however I do miss the 4 hour shows back in the day.
that blows my mind that so many people still want to see these bands.
then again here i am getting PUMPED to see texas is the reason and quicksand...
social d does do it right though... i didn't know they were doing irvine meadows, but in the past they've done a long run of shows akin to a residency at the various socal house of blues so that anyone could have ample opportunities to see them.
ya i was gonna say, i'm not a fan of amphitheater shows. the setting is just too big. i did see thrice at the greek and i enjoyed it. that venue isn't as huge as irvine meadows though so that helps, but even then, taking in all the different places i've seen thrice, the smaller shows always win.
it's like comparing having seen no doubt at the price ballroom at ucsd to seeing them at the gibson.
FYI
Quicksand @ the Glass House in Pomona on January 23st, 2013
tickets go on sale tomorrow, and are $27
this would be a fab place to see them... i heard they tore it up when they played there recently.
ya the glasshouse would be a great venue to see them. better than the house of blues. the sound is good at HOB but the sight lines can blow if it's too crowded. it kind if feels like you're in a box. anyway, I'm not gonna complain. I'm just happy to see them since I was worried we missed the boat in June.![]()
