Have any of you peeps seen Seven Samurai Blu-ray? I haven't, but man, is that really tempting me to get a blu-ray player, lol. But at the same time, I already have two different DVD versions of it. The first criterion version and the second 3 disc version made of win! :D
BTW, Ran is my favorite Kurosawa film, and it's based on my favorite Shakespeare play, King Lear, so that helps. Have they released that on blu-ray, I don't know. :/
I remember the first time I saw Ran, lol, I thought it was weird to see a Kurosawa film in color.

I have it and it's beautiful.
Honestly, as much as I want you to get a Blu-ray player, it's not THAT much of an upgrade. The 3 disc DVD version is pretty ****ing great as it is.I haven't, but man, is that really tempting me to get a blu-ray player, lol. It's on on Blu, but not from Criterion. Studio Canal put it out to some mixed reviews. I'm ok sticking with my Criterion DVD, personally.BTW, Ran is my favorite Kurosawa film, and it's based on my favorite Shakespeare play, King Lear, so that helps. I remember watching part of it in english class in high school and thinking "WTF?!?!" a lot.I remember the first time I saw Ran, lol, I thought it was weird to see a Kurosawa film in color.
My favorite Kurosawa movie is Ikiru. Seen that? Still waiting for it to be released on Blu...
Bah! See, when I saw you posted a Kinks video, I assumed it would be "Come Dancing," well, lol, because you would ask me for a jovial dance. But instead you post that video to make fun of me. *cries*
Lol! Don't worry, JD, I'll get a bluray player yet! It's the third item on my bucket list after getting a beta max player, and wining the lottery, lol!
Oh, I've watched it. I don't know the main actor's name, but that's one of the greatest performance caught on film. You honestly believe he's dying. A sad movie though. :(

I've actually held off on buying the Blu-ray, deciding to wait for the next Barnes & Noble half off sale. Restraint, thou art mine.
