Criterion Announces May Titles

The Criterion Collection has announced five titles for Blu-ray release in May. On May 7th, the studio will release Jean-Luc Godard's Band of Outsiders (1964). On My 14th, it will release Delmer Daves' Jubal (1956) and 3:10 to Yuma (1957). A week later, it will release Haskell Wexler's Medium Cool (1969). And on May 28th, it will release Mike Leigh's Life is Sweet (1990).

Nothing here to make me wet my pants, which is good since April is a big month. The original 3:10 To Yuma has been showing on one of the HD movie channels lately, and it's sitting on my DVR. After I watch it, I may change my mind and want to buy the Blu.

The Criterion Collection has announced five titles for Blu-ray release in June. On June 11, the studio will release Ingmar Bergman's Wild Strawberries (1957). On June 18th, it will release William Cameron Menzies' Things to Come (1936), František Vlácil's Marketa Lazarová (1967), and Fred Newmeyer and Sam Taylor's Safety Last! (1923). And on June 25th, it will release Claude Lanzmann's Shoah (1985).

he Criterion Collection has announced five titles for Blu-ray release in July. On July 9th, the studio will release Kenji Mizoguchi's The Life of Oharu (1952). On July 16th, it will release Peter Brook's Lord of the Flies (1963). On July 23rd, it will release Gabriel Axel's Babette's Feast (1987) and Ang Lee's The Ice Storm (1997). And on July 30th, it will release Guillermo del Toro's The Devil's Backbone (2001).
