Batman Fans Lose Their Minds Over Negative DARK KNIGHT RISES Reviews | Badass Digest
This is the end game of the sickness of fandom. Passion is one thing, but it can be twisted into something dark. That's happening here. These people have tied their identities and self-worth into Nolan's Batfilms so strongly that the smallest slight feels like a deep, personal attack. These sad, mentally unhygienic people lash out with fury. It's ugly and sad and makes me ashamed to be a nerd, to share a pop culture space with these people.
I know that our fan culture can be better. It can be supportive and inspiring at the best of times. But every year I see less of that and more anger and hate and ugliness. I want to remind you guys of my Take Back The Nerd: Five Ways To Be A Good Fan piece from back in May. Let's aspire to be a great community that, at the very least, doesn't threaten to kill people who don't like movies we haven't even seen yet.
...and more fallout.
Was James Holmes, Suspected Aurora Shooter, Inspired by Batman? - Yahoo!
You have to be kidding me. My favorite part is this:
Granted, I could be wrong, but does ANYONE remember the Joker's hair being red at any point in the movie?Law enforcement sources confirmed to ABC News that Holmes said "I am the Joker" when apprehended by authorities. His hair was painted red, the same hair color of Heath Ledger's Joker at one point in 2008's "The Dark Knight."
No, it was not red, but I do recall that Cesar Romero's Joker from the TV series had red hair at times.
But it does not matter, the guy who did this is a nutter plain and simple. For people to try to make a connection with a movie is ridiculous, as if this guy would have been a normal upstanding citizen if he had only not seen some Batman comic or movie.
If it was not Batman it would have been something else that would have set this guy off. Dude is seriously disturbed and sick in the head and who can figure what out what makes these types tick?

Great movie. I can see why the critics wouldn't like it. Too much Bruce, not enough Batman.
Bane was awesome. Selina Kyle was awesome. That's all for now.
wasn't his hair read when he (joker), dressed as the nurse?
No.
He had a wig on briefly that was reddish blonde I believe, but they're still just trying so hard to link it.
I mean, he walked into a theatre showing the latest batman movie and said he was the most famous bad guy? Wow. That's such a shock. What did they think he was going to say? That he was the bad guy from Toy Story 3 or something?
Oh for ****'s sake. A midnight screening of an r-rated movie that clocks in at just under 3 hours. Yup. I want my 3 month old to experience that. Congratulations parents of the decade. ****sticks, maybe the movie theaters all need to go the way of the dodo. Or at least people do....Reports indicate that the disturbed individual who committed this horrifying act had a bulletproof vest, used some kind of gas canister, and had multiple guns when he opened fire in the crowded theater. A three-month-old is among the injured...
I don't know if it's the same couple or another couple also had a baby there, but I read and watched an interview of 2 people with a baby and a 4-yr old there. Mom got shot in the leg. Had she not moved, the 4-yr old would have gotten shot in the head. While nobody ever expected something like this to happen, what you said it what I have wondered all day. Who the **** takes a baby or small child to a midnight showing of an R-rated bang-bang explosion filled movie? What the **** are they thinking?!?! Be a good parent and get a ****ing sitter if you want to see the film so badly.
