Who the **** takes a baby or small child to a midnight showing of an R-rated bang-bang explosion filled movie? What the **** are they thinking?!?! Be a good parent and get a ****ing sitter if you want to see the film so badly.
Precisely. I almost feel bad that I totally forgot my anger and sadness at the situation when I heard there was a 3 month old and a 4 year old at this thing. Immediately I went from "oh man this is terrible" mode to "who the **** do you think you are to bring your screaming child to my movie to ruin my evening?" mode. Is that wrong?

Loved TDKR. Want to save any spoiler talk for later.

As far as parents and kids, same thing @ Noon here today. $20 IMAX tickets: Mother, Father, 4 YO, 6 month old. Baby was thankfully quiet, but getting up 4 times still interrupts people. Some theaters just don't have the stones to turn $$$ away at the door. I wish the Arclight was here.

Man, when I saw The Cell years ago, a couple in the row in front of me brought their son who looked to be about 5 years old. He went from covering his eyes to openly sobbing for a couple of minutes before his folks did anything about it.

No, it's not wrong. I reacted pretty much in that same order. When I initially read the Yahoo article about them, I wanted to bang my head right on my computer desk. I was so filled with....with just "AAAARGHHH!" I mean, I'm happy the whole family survived this devastating event.....BUT, with that said: 1) I'm sorry, but clearly they are just ignorant parents (bringing a 4-month old and a 4-year old out to a ****ing midnight movie, REALLY?!) That's just bad, selfish parenting, plain and simple, 2) More importantly, they are BAD MOVIE-GOERS. I'm sure their seat neighbors were thrilled to see these people show up (late btw, per the mother), with small children in tow. They are a huge part of the reason people can *barely* enjoy going to the movies nowadays, 3) The father of the 4-month old is kind of a tool. He basically admitted that he got so overwhelmed/panicked (which in and of itself is a normal reaction), that he just left the baby on the floor of the movie theater (hoping the gunman wouldn't notice/kill the crying child....let alone get trampled by people trying to escape) and jumped over the balcony and bolted outside, alone. My hero...

Now that I've vented a little...I'm heartbroken for all those people who died, just trying to have a fun late-night evening....and for their families. R.I.P.

‘Dark Knight Rises’ Director Christopher Nolan Speaks Out About The Tragedy In Colorado | Geeks of Doom

“Speaking on behalf of the cast and crew of The Dark Knight Rises, I would like to express our profound sorrow at the senseless tragedy that has befallen the entire Aurora community.

I would not presume to know anything about the victims of the shooting but that they were there last night to watch a movie. I believe movies are one of the great American art forms and the shared experience of watching a story unfold on screen is an important and joyful pastime.

The movie theatre is my home, and the idea that someone would violate that innocent and hopeful place in such an unbearably savage way is devastating to me.

Nothing any of us can say could ever adequately express our feelings for the innocent victims of this appalling crime, but our thoughts are with them and their families.”
so far, no truth to the rumor that he asked if the shooter counted as a paid admission.
