    Agreed.

I know lots of people complain about the "Bane voice" but I thought it was perfect. That scene where the guy screams at him that he's paid him tons of money and Bane just asks him "and you think this gives you power over me?" in that bemused quasi effete British creepy accent was awesome.

    Really?

    Its Bane!! - YouTube

This imbecile that serves as Poison Ivy's pet is respectful to source material for Bane?

Remind me of which graphic novel Batman puts $7 million on his bat card?

You have some solid criticisms and observations throughout the thread, and then you lay this egg to re-emphasize just how much you really are a Nolan hater whether you'll admit it or not.

Ok, I may have overstepped with that one(please apply 'understatement of the month'). By faithful, I mean that Bane, regardless of how poorly done, retained the venom and the mask actually had an explanation. I guess, despite actually wanting to like Nolan's work(I pay to go see the friggin movies...yes, of course I want to like them. I am not Doc Naysay) I guess the hater tag is valid. So...Hello, my name is jerseydevil(hangs head) and I am a Nolan Hater.

If Nolan really wanted to take Bane into a hyper-realistic area, he should have shown him scarred/twisted and had him horribly addicted to steroids/painkillers. That would have fit more with the overall theme of his Bat-flicks. He could have played with Batman overcoming his 'pain' through sheer willpower vs Bane's unnatural choices. Get me my screenwriter...to the batpole!

While I am a huge Thanos fan, in the pantheon of Marvel villains there will only ever be one who compares to DC's Joker. Victor Von D. Thanos...isn't even known by the uninitiated. Not a valid one for one w/Joker. Sorry Adge.

It depends on your definition of "no better comic book villain". :P

True. I was thinking solely as top of the pyramid, but yeah, as far as motivation Thanos' Kali-type devotion to death is just so lovely dark that it's poetic. VVD just wants to Vincent Price/Rule the World, so that's nice too. And Joker represents pure devastating anarchy/lack of impulse control/madness. So many great psychological papers could be written.

Yeah. In the grand scheme, all things considered, you're right about it being down to Joker and Doom, but... I'll take Thanos.
