But it didn't work... and then about a million opportunities to use Alfred in the context of the story go by unused when they would have been uber convenient fixes for GAPING plot holes and offer up reconciliation. I know it would have ruined that nauseatingly saccharine moment in the epilogue but it would have made for a far more involved and therefore consistent and believable Alfred.

This entire movie is full of characters doing exactly what's needed to set up the next little sequence of events but very little of it makes any actual sense.

I was also a little surprised that Alfred was not used more but I am not as bothered by it as much as Doc was.

And BTW as regards the last seen, I did not strike me as Caine was green screened in. But then again perhaps I missed it.

I'm telling you guys... Michael Caine was green screened or worse in that last scene. I don't know why it bugged me so much but it totally did. Oh and having Blakes name be Robin was just barf.

I havent read the comics but i heard Blake was a combination of the different Robins while still being a unique character. Grayson was a cop and Drake figured out Batmans identity?

Correct. There were elements of both of them in Blake's character.
