EDIT : Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw I don't even think that.

Maybe I'm remembering it wrong but I'm pretty sure "Alfred" is in the foreground the entire time with his back to the camera and that annoying thin border around him that indicates he's not really there. Morgan Freeman, Joseph Gordon Levitt and Gary Oldman are all facing the camera until they turn and leave.

Then the angle switches to Michael Caine facing the camera/grave and giving his heartfelt "I failed you Mr. Wayne a buh-huh-hoo-huh-hoo-hoo" bull**** speech with a background that doesn't appear to share the same physical location.

    NOW.....

I'm pulling all of that from memory and I readily admit that I could be wrong.... but I really really don't think so.

Has anything been said about this scene on the fanboy sites?

If it is green screened no doubt someone has commented on it.

I can't find anything.... and I allow for the possibility that the person that Morgan Freeman touches is a stand in for Michael Caine.

But I swear you never see all four of their faces together in that scene because Michael Caine wasn't there.

You know, I seem to remember another movie in which there was a scene were Caine looked like he was green screened in, I don't recall what movie it was it was from a few years back. Perhaps Caine has issues we are unaware of that makes it hard for him to shoot scenes every day.

OK so yea Morgan Freeman puts his hand on "Alfred", but we never see his face until the reverse shot which is clearly done with a green screen.

Look it's not a big deal and I'm not saying it ruins the movie for me.... it's just the thing that got me thinking about how little Michael Caine appears in the movie and then I started thinking about how that if he didn't want to be as available as other actors that it might affect HOW his part was written. Then you start thinking about concerns that DC/WB might have for things like toys and that start you thinking about stuff like "The Bat" and then that influences the ending (which is thematically identical to The Avengers) and before you know it you're left with a typical studio/super hero movie that's made with more artistry than usual but is ultimately just the same old same old story, song and dance.

I don't necessarily disagree with any of this, but... is it a problem if it is all just basically the same?
