    1. Have Bane kill Alfred.
    2. Have Alfred find Bruce wandering in the desert after he escapes the prison and ASSIST him in returning to Gotham to defeat Bane.
    3. Anything more than what they did... which was essentially nothing.
The way I saw it, the stakes went up with Alfred leaving him. And pretty much the first thing that happens with him gone is Bruce getting his back broken. It's funny that I had another argument with a friend yesterday who stated that there was too much Alfred in the beginning. Can't please everyone I guess.

I enjoyed it! Though, "The Dark Knight" trumps "Rises" by a wide margin.

I do want to see "Rises" again just for Tom Hardy's dialect. I thought he made the film. His transformation into Bane, compared to his earlier looks in "Star Trek: Nemesis", or even "Inception", for that matter, was incredibly impressive given the weight in muscle he had to put on.

Anne Hathaway made a great Catwoman, also! Meeeeeeee-YOW! (I am biased, 'cuz she is HAUGHT!)

So, do I see it in IMAX next time?

Anne Hathaway was fantastic. All the actors were fantastic. Most everything about this movie was fantastic. Except the gigantic seams where you could stare right through (if so inclined or cursed not to be able to avoid ) and see the machinery working behind the scenes to make an emotionally manipulative typical comic book movie.

Yes. And I assure you, you'll like it better the second time.

It occurs to me that had Alfred been around, Bruce might not have hooked up with Miranda/Talia, which might have put a kink in the drama of her betrayal. In fact, isolating Bruce from Alfred probably worked just to make things seem more desperate for him in general.

There was a sense of loneliness that I, as an audience member, felt because of the absence of Alfred.

Just saw the flick and gents, I don't want to brag but...aw, what the hell, I want to brag, I figured out a neat clue and I officially have a better memory than Batman:

When Bruce and Miranda do the dirty business in Bruce's manor, he touches a scar on her shoulder. I immediately thought: "Hey, branding, a hint, wasn't there something with the League of Shadows?" Guess where that scar comes from? Yup, a branding iron used by the League of Shadows, as shown to Bruce Wayne by the fake Ra's al Ghul in Batman Begins:

So good thing I'm not the Batman...I would have killed that bitch an hour before the movie ended.

Nice catch. ****, I wondered about that scar when I saw the movie. And then I was watching Batman Begins on FX the other day and they showed the brand you're talking about and I actually wondered about it WITHOUT MAKING THE CONNECTION. Herp Derp.

Not enough credit for the "So that's what that feels like" line in here. Probably my favorite line of the entire movie. Might be just behind the "...it's...it's GONE" line from the whole series.
