DEXTER Renewed for Two More Seasons; Show Will Likely End After Season 8
Quote:
Deadline was able to speak with Showtime entertainment president David Nevins, who said that season eight will most likely be the show’s final run:
“I’m not going to say with absolute certainty that this is the end, but that is the likely scenario, that the series is moving towards a definite end.”
Nevins went on to say that they’ve plotted out a three year plan for the show that includes the current sixth season:
“The biggest question was: what is the trajectory of the show creatively? And after speaking with (executive producers) John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton and Scott Buck, it became pretty clear that there was a very clear 3-year trajectory.”
While I’m a fan of the series, I think they’re gonna be pretty low on story ideas after season eight, so it’s nice to hear they’re heading towards a well planned-out finale. Now the question is, will Dexter’s serial killer secret finally come to light?
Chained up....
That episode made me think that maybe Doc's theory is right on the money. When Travis looks up in the church and then Dexter looks up there is no one there made me really go hmmm... They also made a point of showing us Travis seeing Debra. Travis having to disassociate himself to do all those things, including killing his sister and punishing himself with the metal rod would make a lot of sense. I'm thinking Travis whacked the Olmos character at some point in the past, perhaps for not logically following up with his predictions.
Also, I wonder where the new plot line is going with the dead hooker. I assume the guy in the room with her was the police chief, whatever his name is, judging by LaGuerta's telephone conversation.
They are making it too obvious that he doesn't exist though.
Oh well. I'm a bit more interesting in the assistant with the hand now.
Damn you, Doc.
