Edward James Olmos Joins Season Six of DEXTER

We’ve already heard that Mos Def and Colin Hanks would both join the sixth season of Showtime’s acclaimed series Dexter, and now yet another fine actor has joined the guest star line-up.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Lights Out" (RIP, you should have all watched this!!!!) actor Billy Brown (pictured right) has joined the cast and will appear in the sixth season in a recurring capacity, playing the character of Mike Cutler, a no-nonsense Chicago homicide detective who transfers to Miami Metro, where he immediately ruffles some feathers.

Too bad Dexter has become a shadow of its former self, and a cartoon in comparison to Breaking Bad.

Nope. Breaking Bad is a superior show, but Dexter always has had a cartoonish feel to it. Just gotta go with it.

Wow. I almost feel like both of you are right. There were just too many 'closecalls' last season and Dexter making mistakes. That just doesn't work too well. In order to continue his dual life Dexter has to be SO precise. But with the family and the extended expectations/scope they have had to blur the lines a little bit too much. It has gotten rather cartoony. Breaking Bad kind of makes the argument that Dexter needn't have gone that route. As harsh as things get and as deep as Walt has buried himself...the stakes simply get higher. And the drama has reached almost claustaphobic heights. I still swear that scene with the twins closing in on Walt's brother in law in the parking lot(last season) was the most tense 3 or 4 minutes of tv I have seen in a long time.
