I STILL need to see the David Fincher version. I've read the books several times and seen the original Swedish films (which I loved) but I still haven't seen this version. I guess it's a good thing this comes out on DVD today!

"Hockey won't hold still to give you a better look. You wouldn't want it to anyway. It's the action that makes the possibilities endless."
1. I read all three books. Tatoo was somewhat of a letdown, but not a lot, the other two were excellent.
2. Plan to watch Fincher's Tatoo this weekend on Blueray.
3. Then, will watch the Swedish films. Long versions, hopefully.
I'm really hooked on Lisbeth. What a shame that Larsson died with so much left to do. Does anyone have an update on where the money is going? Did his partner Eva Gabrielsson wind up getting the nod from the courts??

MGM Takes A Loss On 'Dragon Tattoo' And Seeks Better Terms For Sequels - Deadline.com
If you think that The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo was a hit, then talk to MGM Holdings CEO Gary Barber. His company co-financed the film, and although it has generated about $231M at worldwide box offices he tells investors who own MGM’s unlisted shares that “it is below our expectations and we booked a modest loss.” The company wouldn’t say how much it wrote down, but Barber notes that execs ”were hoping we’d do 10% more than we did.” MGM has an option to co-finance the other two films in the trilogy and is talking to Sony about following through “assuming we can achieve better economics.” He was much more upbeat about the early performance of 21 Jump Street, which MGM also co-financed. “We expect it to be profitable,” Barber says. He adds that ”MGM has entered 2012 as a revitalized company.” He declined to describe MGM’s strategy but says it is “evaluating all options.”
Saw Fincher's version over the weekend, twice. Very, very good. Now, the wait begins for "...Fire" and "...Nest".
Will see if I can Netflix the Swedish versions in the meantime. For those of you that have seen them did you watch with subtitles or English dubbed??? Is there even a choice??????
Finally saw this last Friday. Excellent movie to watch while giving blood.
Lisbeth kicks ass. Time to read the books.
