4 Minute Trailer: David Fincher’s ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ | /Film

I ain't watching this for fear of spoilers (even though I've read the book and seen the original), but if you do, I'd love to hear what you think.

The visual tone in the trailer is tense and seductive and I think very much in keeping with both the book and the original film.

I'm actually impressed so far; whereas before I completely blew off any trust that the Hollywood/Fincher version could pull this off. One possible negative I notice (but I'll reserve judgment until I see the film itself), is that there might be more "explaining" to the audience, through dialog within the film, of the plot and spelling out of details that is more typical of American vs. European films. I did read all the books before I saw the respective films, but I know many who did not read, who had trouble following certain aspects in the Swedish film. Hopefully I'm reading into this aspect and it's not overdone.

One thing is certain...it seems like it has enough quality going for it to generate gobs of legitimate comparisons and discussion by the media and by fans in blogs with the original.

But likewise, adgy, I don't want to go too far into thinking or knowing more about this film before it arrives.
