Face to Face used to play a lot at the Claremont Colleges. This was before they got really popular & were a 3 piece. Their songs were simple but catchy. I still have their 1st cd on Dr. Strange Records.
One of my favorite shows was when F2F & Jawbreaker played Scripps College. The Motley if I remember correctly. They had to shut it down because there was no A/C & the fire alarms kept going off due to body heat.
About Dr. M's...I graduated hs in '88. Back then the people who wore doc's were punkers, goths, mods & skins. I remember 80's disco (expose, lisa lisa, chaka kahn, etc) was huge back then. The disco biscuits from hs started listening to Morrissey, Social D & The Cure a couple of years after they graduated. I almost forgot abut the ASB poseurs as well. All of sudden Doc's were "in fashion". Lame. The same people that used to make fun of us, were now wearing Dr. M's.
The Jam were before my time as well. Never saw them play. I happened to catch the video for "Town Called Malice" when I was 13 & I was hooked. Paul Weller was the coolest dude ever. I hate TSC, however. Especially that untalented douche bag.
In the summer of '85, my best friend at the time, had hardcore bands play in his backyard. Those bands were Uniform Choice & Doggy Style. In the middle of my jr year the hardcore scene took a hold of me & didn't let go until the summer '92.
Sorry for the long story. But yeah, Merc suits are sharp. I'll try to find pics from my past & post them.
