I think if you stay away from the FPS/3d(which shouldn't be too hard...it's not really playing that way in a lot of places) you should be ok. Maybe, if you are really THAT sensitive, you may want to stay away from the 3d.Quote:

Saw it last night in 3D HFR.
The stuff they added mostly has to do with some back story in some places and lays the story groundwork for LOTR.
The movie could've been tighter. It kinda lingers on some things that could just be one-hit and move on. There is a more upbeat sort of vibe to it and is bit more more cartoonish than the LOTR movies, which makes sense. And the action pieces are predictably on-par with LOTR.
As for the 3D HFR, the 3D was used well, just to add depth. As for the HFR, it wasn't really all that noticeable for the most part. But there were times where the difference was pretty stark. In certain live-action scenes, it looked unnatural. The friend I saw it with said it reminded her of some of the old, low-budget public broadcast stuff, where you could tell it wasn't on regular film. It did kind of remind me of seeing HD for the first few times - just a little jarring in spots. And yeah, it made some of the effects stand out as obviously fake. Like, Wolverine fake or when you watch some old special effects on a hi-def TV.
Overall though, it was decently good. Not spectacular, but then LOTR set the bar pretty high.
Hated it. Walked out half way through. Looks like an afternoon Hallmark special. Saw it in 3d hfr. Just an awful film. Bloated and unbearable.
Didn't hate it, but also didn't love it.
Saw it in IMAX 3D at 24fps.
The visuals are great and I was even ok with some of the story that strayed from the CHILDREN'S book.
They TOTALLY missed the tone of the Hobbit. LOTR is a dense and absorbing work of literature.
The Hobbit was meant as a mostly light-hearted adventure story with brief episodes of scary situations.
It is NOT a heavy prelude to some very serious doings about the rise of a necromancer or of a rising of an incredible power of evil.
Blech. 3 films? Why? Greed.
