See, I tried to present that in my initial argument on this thread...different strokes. I stay out of things I can't handle...Woody Allen films, most modern music, romantic comedies...unless I have strong feelings or feel that I can add to a discussion by presenting an argument that, folks may not agree with, but may at least understand. To me, music connects on an emotional/visceral level. You like what you like and it sometimes cannot be put into words. I can argue to death about how I love the stupidest movie, but I cannot explain how much certain songs move me to tears.

Personally I am stymied that you don't like QT...or Clockwork Orange...and I could pick your brain all day about why. But if we tried to argue the merits of either one of our musical tastes I just would have no frame of reference to either defend my tastes or question yours.

Well, isn't the phrase "guilty pleasure" reserved for things that we enjoy but can't necessarily qualify our reasoning behind it?

I have guilty pleasure movies and music up the ying-yang, but I also know crap when I see it. It's all individually subjective anyway.

But, because their are FAR fewer film options than musical choices, the field is narrower, and a guy like me finds it much, much easier to be a music snob than a film snob.

I mean, its easy enough to see/hear a small sample of something to know that even at is best, its just not something that you would enjoy or find stimulating in any sense.

This show is one of those things for me, not unlike an Adam Sandler or Jim Carrey flick.
