Saw it yesterday morning and loved it. Not sure I'd call it the best Bond movie ever, but I think it was definitely the best of the Daniel Craig ones. Even aside from the story and stuff, I loved the technical aspects of this one. The score was great, the sets were beautiful and the cinematography was... woof. That Roger Deakins (who does most of the Coen Brothers movies, as well) REALLY knows how to touch me ocularly in all the right places. It got the point where by the end of the flick I thought they were cheating almost. So much backlighting and silhouetting... but that isn't cheating, that's Damn Fine Shooting.

    Solid ****ing movie.

Just saw it. Loved it. And Javier Bardem is so freakin' fun to watch.

I don't know if it's my Nolan covered glasses or the fact that Mendes actually stated that he was inspired by The Dark Knight, but I kept seeing elements of that movie in this one. Obviously a good thing in my mind.

I do wish they'd go back to putting the shot of Bond shooting at the camera in the beginning of these movies though.

If so, I was wearing them, too.

Rock solid movie, especially if you don't look to close to see the cracks. Thankfully, as others have said, there's so much eye candy that it looks brilliant to behold. (And no, I'm not talking about the chicks, neither of whom are really my style)

Since we're talking about cinematography and camera work in a Sam Mendes movie, I was reminded of my favorite scene in Road to Perdition. The shot of Tom Hanks exiting the elevator and walking down the long hall as he pulls out his gun, ready to take out Daniel Craig. The music was really powerful too. Nothing to do with this movie but that was a great moment.
